On August 13, 2025, numerous readers selected, read, and purchased books at the main venue of the Shanghai Exhibition Center Book Fair. The 2025 Shanghai Book Fair and "Bookish China" Shanghai Week kicked off on the same day. For the first time this year, the book fair will feature a "dual home" exhibition mode, including the Shanghai Exhibition Center and the Fuzhou Road branch of the Shanghai Book City. The exhibition will be held in a "dual home+X+N" format, with various district level sub venues and some physical bookstores, libraries, and other characteristic sub venues presenting multiple possibilities for a book fair that goes beyond books and exhibitions.
