UAE economist Nasser Al Said recently stated that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization provides solid support for deepening the economic and trade relations between the UAE and China, and helps both sides expand cooperation in multiple fields. As the founder and president of Nasir Saidi United Company, Saidi pointed out in an online interview with Xinhua News Agency that the trade focus of the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries has shifted to Asia, and China has become one of the UAE's most important economic and trade partners. Saidi believes that energy is an important area for cooperation between the two sides, and emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and financial technology also have enormous potential for cooperation. The United Arab Emirates officially became a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in May 2023. This year, the SCO Summit will be held in Tianjin, China from August 31 to September 1. Leaders from more than 20 countries, including all SCO member states, and heads of 10 international organizations will attend the summit related activities. (New Society)
