Endless Exploration: China's Aerospace, Aviation, and Navigation Exhibition Opened in Hong Kong

The "Endless Exploration: China's Aerospace, Aviation and Navigation" exhibition, jointly organized by the China National Space Administration and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, held its opening ceremony at the Hong Kong Science Museum on the 31st. This exhibition is the first overseas exhibition held by the China National Space Administration, covering three fields: aerospace, aviation, and navigation. Multiple exhibits made their debut in Hong Kong, including the lunar surface samples brought back by Chang'e-5 and the first human sample of the far side of the moon brought back by Chang'e-6, as well as aircraft models such as the J-20, Y-20, and Z-20 from the "20 Family". Highlight exhibits such as the "Three Jewels" models on the shipbuilding industry's crown, including the Shandong aircraft carrier, the "Aida Modu" large cruise ship, and the large liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport ship, will be showcased to the public. The Hong Kong Special Zone showcases the fruitful achievements of Hong Kong in the fields of aerospace and navigation, as well as its cooperation with the mainland. The exhibition also features 8 interactive experience projects, including "Lunar Base," "My Martian Life," "My Solar System," "Aircraft Carrier Style," and "Sea Sky Communication. In addition, exhibits of the Long March 5 carrier rocket model and the "Striver" manned submersible model will also be displayed in the outdoor exhibition area of the Hong Kong Science Museum. The Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Guoji, stated in his speech at the event that this exhibition not only systematically presents the country's technological innovation strength and highlights China's important position in the global technological landscape, but also strengthens the national confidence in science and technology, providing Hong Kong citizens with an invaluable opportunity for patriotic education. Chen Guoji said that Hong Kong actively integrates into the overall development of the country and makes contributions to it. Hong Kong scientists also participate in major scientific research tasks, promoting national development with an international perspective. This exhibition provides valuable reference for introducing the achievements of national scientific and technological development, showcasing Hong Kong's role as a cultural hub connecting the country and the world. Li Guoping, Chief Engineer of the China National Space Administration, delivered a speech stating that in recent years, Hong Kong has fully leveraged its scientific research and innovation advantages and made important contributions to major scientific and technological projects such as lunar exploration, Mars exploration, and deep-sea scientific research. He expressed sincere gratitude to Hong Kong people from all walks of life who have long supported and participated in the country's aerospace, aviation, and maritime industries. Li Guoping said that the National Space Administration and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government jointly organized this exhibition, which not only showcases brilliant achievements, but also allows more Hong Kong compatriots to understand the development of China's science and technology industry, stimulates the enthusiasm of the younger generation in Hong Kong for science, and sets a lofty goal of exploring the unknown world. The National Space Administration is willing to continue to strengthen close cooperation with the SAR government and encourage Hong Kong's scientific and technological forces to continue participating in major national science and technology projects. During the exhibition, Yin Zeyong, an aero-engine expert and an academician of the CAE Member, and other six experts will hold a series of science popularization lectures around their respective fields. In addition, experimental classes, workshops, and scientific demonstrations will be held to allow the public to explore the scientific principles behind flight and deep-sea diving.
