The era horn integrated into the national bloodline

He is like a music guardian, silently guarding a group of patriotic musicians amidst the flames of war. Ren Guang once strongly recommended Nie Er, who had been unemployed for several months, to join Bai Dai Record Company. Under his cover and arrangement, a group of active left-wing musicians and lyricists such as Nie Er and An E often gathered together to discuss music creation. Sometimes when we discuss it late, Nie Er stays overnight at Ren Guang's house. Ren Guang is 12 years older than Nie Er, who respectfully calls him "our mentor". They also organized the Hundred Dynasties National Band (also known as the Sensen National Band) together, recording popular folk music works such as "Golden Snake Dance" and "Spring Dawn at Cuihu". Ren Guang also worked hard to help Xian Xinghai, who returned to China to devote himself to the creation of music for the Anti Japanese War. Taking advantage of the popularity of Xian Xinghai's recorded albums "Battle Song" and "National Salvation March", he strongly recommended Xian Xinghai to join Baidai Record Company, which relieved Xian Xinghai's life pressure and allowed him to fully devote himself to the creation of anti Japanese war music. The aggression and atrocities of the Japanese invaders hurt Ren Guang's heart and inspired his creativity. Ren Guang's anti Japanese war music contains both resounding songs of resistance and implicit metaphors. He wrote "Go Back to go home" under his pen name "Qianfa". The melody was like a war drum, and the lyrics were like steel swords. It boosted morale on the march of the New Fourth Army, set off a wave of national salvation among overseas Chinese, and even was translated into many languages, echoing in the world's anti fascist battlefield. The painting "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon" created by him depicts the eternal pursuit of dark clouds and the bright moon. It may seem like a leisurely style instrumental music, but in reality, it embodies a longing for the future - even if the night is as dark as ink, the clouds will eventually open and the moon will shine. The anti Japanese war songs created by Ren Guang demonstrate profound artistic consciousness. He co wrote an article titled 'Song Discussion' with An E and published it in the 'Film Illustrated' magazine. The article talks about the absolute unity between music and lyrics in song creation, and the need to create music that is truly accepted by the public. This is Ren Guang's only music article and also one of the earliest articles in the left-wing music industry about popular songs. Ren Guang believed that 'music belongs to the masses', and he particularly emphasized the folk foundation of music, valuing the integration of new content into folk music forms. Nie Er repeatedly expressed his feelings after listening to Ren Guang's new work in his diary, stating that "there is a special flavor in the melody, rhythm, and harmony, which is neither copied from foreign countries nor completely Chinese. It can be said that Ren Guang's anti Japanese war music creation is the crystallization of his national music accumulation and Western music texture forged in the furnace of the war era. Between 1939 and 1940, Ren Guang transferred from Chongqing to Singapore. While carrying out the Anti Japanese War and Salvation Song Movement in overseas Chinese areas, he also completed his only large-scale work - the five act opera "Taierzhuang", also known as "Hongbo Qu". Although this work was not performed, it is a milestone in the exploration of Chinese new opera and the only large-scale musical work in the history of China's Anti Japanese War that praises the Battle of Taierzhuang.
