Time and Space Qin Xia Lu "is a performance that deeply integrates traditional Chinese music and martial arts culture. It takes Chinese historical dynasties as clues, selects classic images from the martial arts world, and constructs a" chivalrous music and painting world "that transcends time and space through the fusion of ethnic instrumental music and modern music language. The performers dressed up according to characters from martial arts dramas, and the percussion performers were clearly the leaders of the Beggar's Sect. The erhu performers with "chopstick heads" reminded people of Zhou Zhiruo. The sound of music plays, and familiar melodies such as "Swords Like a Dream", "A Smile in the Sea", "Iron Blood Heart", and "Dream Chaser" flow out, taking the audience to the enchanting world of martial arts. The repertoire in this concert was adapted and created by three composers, Chen Yongjia, Li Yuejin, and Chen Xiaqi. The theme song "Breaking the Formation Music" was composed by Li Yuejin, a resident composer of the Beijing National Orchestra. Wu Xuhai, the leader of the Beijing Ethnic Orchestra, introduced: "The concert is connected by stories and storytelling, and the script and arrangement are all original creations of the orchestra's own artists. We hope to explore a new path for ethnic music in modern narrative and stage presentation through this performance, and make ethnic instruments a 'qin sword' that tells the spirit of chivalry." "Time and Space Qin Xia Lu" adopts a situational narrative, combined with off screen sound, multi-channel sound effects, and lighting design, breaking the traditional presentation form of chamber music and bringing immersive auditory and visual experiences to the audience. This performance is suitable for presentation in new performing arts spaces and various cultural and tourism venues, with the aim of attracting more young people to learn about Chinese folk music and participate while watching the performance. We hope to get closer to the audience and interact with them as much as possible. In the future, we also plan to perform in the Beijing Zhangjiakou Sports, Culture and Tourism Belt and the place where martial arts stories take place. The Beijing Ethnic Orchestra stated that it will continue to promote the "Light Cavalry" series of performances, explore new forms of ethnic music performances with small composition, high quality, and strong interaction, and revitalize traditional folk music in the contemporary context.
