Hong Kong holds the 'Data Summit 2025'

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Association of Banks jointly held the "Data Summit 2025" in Hong Kong on the 28th, with the theme of "Stimulating New Business Momentum in the New Era of Data Infrastructure", to explore how to optimize trade financing processes and facilitate small and medium-sized enterprise lending through data infrastructure, thereby promoting business development. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Yu Weiwen, stated in his speech that the authority has been committed to enhancing Hong Kong's data infrastructure, enabling financial institutions, data providers, and small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in commerce to experience the benefits of data sharing, and speeding up operational processes. Looking ahead, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority will continue to simplify the trade financing process through the new generation data infrastructure "Business Data Connect", adding momentum to the development of commerce and stimulating innovation, benefiting more small and medium-sized enterprises, and promoting the development of the real economy. Chen Meibao, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, mentioned that the Transport and Logistics Bureau is making every effort to build a port community system, connecting all stakeholders in the entire cargo transportation process, and also providing information on sea, land, and air cargo transportation to achieve comprehensive transparency in the status of goods. The Transport and Logistics Bureau will continue to support the industry in utilizing the system to explore more financing application cases, further promoting currency logistics, trade flow, and capital flow. Hong Kong International Airport is the world's largest cargo airport and has won this honor for the 14th time since 2010. ”The Chairman of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Lin Tianfu, said that in order to further enhance competitiveness, it is necessary to continue to make good use of the power of technology, and the digitization of the air cargo supply chain is one of the key factors in achieving higher efficiency and providing value-added services.
