Education is the cornerstone of our centenary endeavor. And teachers are the cornerstone of education. President Xi Jinping emphasizes: "Teachers should aspire to become Great Masters, acting as role models for studentsin pursuing knowledge, handling affairs, and conducting themselves, and facilitating their all-round development." President Xi's earnest instructions and expectations represent the responsibilities and mission entrusted to our vast number of teachers in the new era and on the new journey. To become Great Masters, one must embrace a "grand vision." Those who impart truth must first comprehend and believe in it themselves. Teachers bear the significant responsibility of spreading knowledge, ideas, and truth, shaping souls, lives, and individuals. This professional nature and duty demand that teachers possess a deep devotion to their country, harbor "grand visions for the nation," and cultivate the aspiration and ambition to "dedicate themselves to the teaching profession and contribute to a stronger China." Huang Danian, who declared, "I will give my all whenever the motherland needs me;" Zhang Guimei, who took root in impoverished regions to help rural girls realize their dreams; and the veteran professors of the Westward Relocation of Xi'an Jiaotong University, who packed their bags and ventured to where the country needed them most—all of them integrated education into the grand endeavors of building a stronger nation and achieving national rejuvenation. They transformed their faith in Marxism, their confidence in socialism with Chinese characteristics, and their belief in the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation into a continuous flow of influence through their words and deeds, paired with boundless devotion to the educational cause. Their actions epitomize the vision and responsibility of Great Masters. As educator Tao Xingzhi once said, "Teaching thousands to tell truth; learning thousands to be truthful people." Education is an encounter that seeks beauty and a journey that warms hearts through compassion. Love breeds responsibility, and this profound love and responsibility inspire teachers to uphold their mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country. They dedicate themselves to their teaching posts with unwavering commitment, nurturing students’ growth through genuine care and sincerity, bridging the gap with learners. By pouring their warmth and affection into every student, they ensure each individual grows healthily and seizes opportunities to shine brightly in life.

To become a distinguished educator, one must possess "profound knowledge." As the saying goes, "To give students a bowl of water, the teacher must have a barrel of water." This barrel represents not only the accumulation of knowledge but also the crystallization of wisdom. To fill this "barrel" to the brim, teachers must continuously strengthen their theoretical foundations, consciously equip themselves with the Party's innovative theories, and steadfastly apply the worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, along with its underlying stances, viewpoints, and methods. Only by truly mastering the essential skills of Marxism can they become resolute believers and faithful practitioners of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. To excel as a distinguished educator in the new era dedicated to fostering virtue through education, merely possessing "a barrel of water" is far from sufficient. What matters more is using an endless flow of living water to nurture roots, shape souls, ignite wisdom, and nourish minds. This demands that teachers focus on the nation's needs and the people’s aspirations, courageously explore new knowledge, dare to break conventions, skillfully empower education with new technologies, and vigorously drive innovation in knowledge and methodology. With solid expertise, masterful teaching skills, rigorous attitudes, and scientific approaches, they can make courses "lively," "profound," and "trendy," thus demonstrating genuine competence and yielding outstanding results in addressing real and significant challenges. To become a distinguished educator, one must embrace a "grand vision." Today’s world is undergoing profound development, transformation, and adjustment. Multipolarity, economic globalization, social informatization, and cultural diversity are advancing rapidly, while reforms in global governance systems and the international order are accelerating. "To ordain conscience for Heaven and Earth, to secure life and fortune for the people, to carry forward lost teachings for past sages, and to establish peace for all generations" — this reflects the universal ideals of Chinese intellectuals. Only when teachers possess broad-mindedness can their students face the vast ocean, gaze upon the starry sky, and stand tall with unwavering integrity. In the face of a rapidly changing world and China, to cultivate well-rounded socialist builders and successors who embody moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor excellence, educators themselves must possess broad international perspectives. They must continually enhance their ability to grasp the strategic landscape of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the profound global transformations unseen in a century by applying the Party’s innovative theories for the new era. Teachers must examine issues through interconnected domestic and global lenses, discern the trends of our times with a comprehensive, dialectical, and long-term vision, and embrace students with a magnanimous, inclusive spirit — appreciating, encouraging, and accepting them wholeheartedly. Through their words and actions, they should influence and shape students as gently as the spring breeze and rain, striving to become messengers who sow the seeds of knowledge and pass on the torch of civilization. As sculptors and guardians of students' hearts, they will nurture a new generation capable of shouldering the historic mission of national rejuvenation.
