The 2025 European Tour of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra has been officially released

From August 6th to 15th, the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra will embark on its first multi country tour in Europe. Led by international conductor Zheng Mingxun, the orchestra will bring top artists such as Chopin International Piano Competition winner Liu Xiaoyu to the UK, Spain, and Germany, and make appearances in five cultural cities including Edinburgh, Saffron Walden, Santander, Koblenz, and Hamburg. It will also make its debut at mainstream European art festivals such as the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, Santander International Music Festival, and Yibei Philharmonic Summer Music Festival. The touring group will also hold two exchange activities in Edinburgh and Frankfurt, using symphony as a link to build a new bridge for cultural exchange between China and Europe on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union. The preview concert before the tour departed was recently held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra will embark on its first multi country European tour, lasting 10 days and spanning five cities in the UK, Spain, and Germany. The first performance of the orchestra will be held on August 6th at the Edinburgh International Arts Festival in the UK. As the only performance from China at this festival, it will showcase the spirit and temperament of Chinese musicians in the new era at the historic Arthur Hall; On August 8th, the band will come to Saffron Walden in Essex, England to play strong music at the Saffron Music Hall, which has excellent acoustic design and a natural architectural style. On August 10th, the touring group will transition to Spain and make their debut at the Santander International Music Festival, resonating with the unique modern building of the Ahengta Concert Hall. On August 12th, the band will attend the International Koblenz Music Festival and complete a wonderful dialogue of playing classical music in the industrial site at the Seina Smelter Foundry Hall; On August 15th, the final concert of the tour will take place in the main hall of Hamburg Yibei Philharmonic Hall, a glass dome concert hall known as one of the most iconic music buildings of the 21st century. The concert will also be fully recorded and will be broadcasted in the online series of performances at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in the future. This tour gathers a top tier artist lineup, led by internationally renowned conductor Zheng Mingxun, with the participation of Chinese piano rising star Liu Xiaoyu, winner of the Chopin International Piano Competition, and German organ master Hansjorg Albrecht. The performance repertoire includes composer Chen Qigang's "Five Elements" suite inspired by traditional Chinese culture, Zheng Mingxun's personally selected and arranged Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" suite excerpts, as well as Ravel's "Piano Concerto in G Major" and Saint Sa ë ns' "Symphony No. 3 in C Minor for Organ".
