International Symposium on Sinologist Literary Translation held in Nanjing

2025-07-25

Zhang Hongsen, Chairman and Party Secretary of the Chinese Writers Association, stated in his opening speech that Chinese literature has always had a spirit of inclusiveness. Chinese culture has never been fixed or static, but rather open and inclusive. Since the reform and opening up, literary exchanges between China and foreign countries have reached unprecedented depth and breadth. Many outstanding works with unique styles and distinctive temperament have been translated into multiple languages and published around the world. The types and scale of works by foreign writers entering China are also expanding. Chinese literature is willing to continue to uphold the spirit of inclusiveness, openness, and mutual learning, and work together with literary workers from various countries to create a shared spiritual home for humanity.
