On the 21st, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the 56th Statistical Report on the Development of Internet in China (hereinafter referred to as the Report) in Beijing. The Report shows that the scale of China's AI industry will exceed 700 billion yuan in 2024, maintaining a growth rate of more than 20% for many consecutive years. The report also pointed out that in the first half of this year, China's generative artificial intelligence products achieved comprehensive progress from technology to application, with a rapid increase in the number of products and a continuous expansion of application scenarios. On the one hand, China's influence in the field of artificial intelligence has significantly increased. According to the Report, as of March this year, a total of 346 generative AI services had been filed with the State Internet Information Office. The emergence of China's AI products has attracted global attention. Within 20 days of its launch, DeepSeek has exceeded 30 million global daily active users. It has topped the application market in 140 countries and regions around the world, becoming the fastest growing generative AI application for global users. On the other hand, generative artificial intelligence technology continues to penetrate deeper into specific application scenarios. The report shows that as of June this year, the proportion of users using generative artificial intelligence products to answer questions was the highest, reaching 80.9%. Domestic artificial intelligence products have not only achieved breakthroughs in parameter scale of billions and multimodal capabilities, but also deeply integrated with scenarios such as office collaboration, education accessibility, industrial design, and content creation, building an intelligent application ecosystem covering multiple fields. It is worth mentioning that with the continuous optimization of the innovation environment, China's voice in the global artificial intelligence field has significantly increased. In terms of the number of patents, the World Intellectual Property Organization report shows that China has become the world's largest holder of artificial intelligence patents, accounting for 60%. As of April 2025, the number of AI patent applications in China has reached 1.576 million, accounting for 38.58% of the world's total, ranking first in the world. Zhang Xiao, deputy director of China Internet Network Information Center, said that with the continuous development and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence in China, a number of high-quality domestic AI products accelerated to go to sea, expanding the influence of Chinese AI products in the global market. In the future, China will further enhance its role in global artificial intelligence governance, actively participate in and propose Chinese solutions, and strive to promote the establishment of fair and just global AI governance rules.
