The "Fenghuo Art Soul - Exhibition of Anti Japanese Literature and Art Collection of China Academy of Art" opened in Beijing on the 16th. The exhibition selected more than 140 collections for display, among which the complete manuscript of Xian Xinghai's "Yellow River Cantata" was unveiled for the first time in recent years. The exhibition is divided into three major exhibition areas: "War Songs Shake the Mountains and Rivers", "Lantai Singing the Golden Gem", and "Sharpening the Stele with Knife and Pen", presenting precious literature and artistic creations in the fields of music, opera, and art during the Anti Japanese War from multiple perspectives. The most important exhibits in the "Battle Song Shakes Mountains and Rivers" exhibition area are two manuscripts of Xian Xinghai's "Yellow River Cantata" in the museum collection. One is a simplified score manuscript from Yan'an in 1939, and the other is a total score manuscript from Moscow in 1941. In 2003, both manuscripts were included in the second batch of the "Chinese Archives and Documents Heritage List". Multiple creative manuscripts and diaries of Xian Xinghai, as well as precious relics such as pens, violins, and pianos used by Xian Xinghai, were also exhibited on site. The "Lantai Singing the Golden Sword" exhibition area focuses on the resolute spirit of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang's "growing beard and clear aspirations". It displays Mei Lanfang's recordings of "Life and Death Hate" and "Anti Jin Soldiers" in the mid-1930s, as well as a series of theatrical documents from the Anti Japanese War. They are witnesses of the Anti Japanese War drama movement, recording the heroic deeds of the theater industry in serving the country with art. The exhibition area of "Sharpening the Stele with Knife and Pen" presents the practice of the artistic concept of "art for society" by Yan'an Lu art woodcut workers such as Liqun and Yanhan, and truly records the heroic scenes of military and civilian resistance and the hopeful life in the border areas. Zhou Qingfu, the president of the China Academy of Art, stated that the institute has collected a batch of red art documents and works of great historical value. These collections of anti Japanese literature and art not only record the glorious years of history, but also vividly demonstrate the fighting spirit of artists who use literature and art as weapons, the national spirit with patriotism as the core, and the fighting spirit of serving the people wholeheartedly. It is reported that the exhibition will continue until November. (New Society)
