The reporter learned from the press conference on the reform of the integration of industry and education for outstanding engineers held by the Ministry of Education on the 15th that more than 2100 engineering master's degree holders in the first special pilot have achieved high-quality employment overall, with 71% staying in enterprises in this field. Since the launch of the special pilot project for the reform of engineering master's and doctoral training in 2022, positive progress has been made in promoting the reconstruction of the training system, process, ability, evaluation, and strengthening the continuity of school enterprise training. As of now, 40 National Excellent Engineering Colleges and 4 National Excellent Engineering Innovation Research Institutes have been established. According to statistics, schools and enterprises have collaborated to build 201 core courses and launched them for free on the National Smart Education Platform; The National Excellent Engineering College has hired 23200 school enterprise mentors, and the school enterprise has jointly built more than 300 engineering technology centers. Starting from January 1st this year, the Degree Law of the People's Republic of China officially came into effect, placing practical achievements on par with academic dissertations. Among the master's graduates of the first special pilot program, 67 have applied for degrees based on their practical achievements. It is reported that the "Standards for the Training and Certification of Excellent Engineers" will be released within the year, and the pilot program for the certification of the National Institute of Excellent Engineers will be launched. The relevant person in charge of the Degree Management and Graduate Education Department of the Ministry of Education introduced that by 2030, more than half of the engineering master's and doctoral training units will be promoted to independently build excellent engineering colleges.
