The reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission that China has recently allocated 10 billion yuan in central budget investment to carry out the action of using work as a substitute for relief to expand employment and increase income for key groups, helping them to stabilize employment and promote income growth. It is reported that this investment will implement 1975 projects, which are expected to attract and drive 310000 key groups to work nearby, including poverty-stricken populations, monitoring objects for poverty prevention and relapse, returning migrant workers, and other rural laborers. This batch of 10 billion yuan investment will distribute labor remuneration of 4.59 billion yuan, accounting for 45.9%, further increasing the proportion of labor remuneration to central investment. This batch of investment focuses on the construction of small and medium-sized agricultural and rural infrastructure, as well as urban-rural integration development infrastructure. It is planned to support the hardening of various village roads and alleys, the renovation of small roads connecting villages in county towns or townships, totaling 9640 kilometers, the dredging of more than 3762 kilometers of small drainage and irrigation channels, the improvement of more than 9180 acres of farmland, the laying of 2110 kilometers of water supply and drainage pipelines, and the construction of 4842 rural simple bridges, culverts, mountain ponds, and reservoirs. As of the end of June, the National Development and Reform Commission, in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance, has issued a total of 29.5 billion yuan in central investment for the year 2025 to support the implementation of nearly 6000 work for relief projects in local areas. The plan is to absorb and drive more than 700000 disadvantaged people in project areas to find employment locally, and distribute labor remuneration exceeding 11 billion yuan, effectively expanding channels for employment and income increase for the masses.
