The 13th World Peace Forum opened on the 3rd at Tsinghua University. More than 1200 guests from 86 countries gathered in Beijing to discuss the forum theme of "Jointly Promoting World Peace and Prosperity: Shared Responsibility, Sharing, and Win Win", in order to consolidate development consensus, promote the construction of a new international order, call for practical actions to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and promote world peace and development. As an unofficial annual international security forum, the World Peace Forum, founded in 2012, aims to promote international security dialogue, enhance understanding and mutual trust, and maintain world peace and stability. Every year, it attracts experts, scholars, and politicians from many countries to attend and exchange ideas. This forum is hosted by Tsinghua University and the Chinese People's Diplomatic Association. During the three-day conference, in addition to hosting the opening keynote speech, there will also be various activities such as keynote speeches, conferences, and group discussions. Only by sharing responsibilities and opportunities can we achieve common development. Several guests expressed that the current international situation is complex and severe, with various traditional and non-traditional security issues intertwined, posing unprecedented challenges to peace and development. Only by firmly adhering to the concept of mutual benefit and win-win, and promoting open cooperation through practical actions, can countries achieve peace and development. Former European Council President Van Rompuy stated in his speech that wars, diseases, climate disasters, tariff wars, and disregard for legal treaties are threatening human society, and the multilateral order is suffering serious impacts. We must continue to strengthen dialogue and take concrete measures with a more pragmatic attitude to move towards peace. ”He said. We firmly believe that the more turbulent the situation, the more necessary it is for unity, cooperation, communication, and dialogue. ”Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University and Chairman of the World Peace Forum, stated that since its establishment, the World Peace Forum has always focused on major issues such as peace, security, and cooperation, enhanced mutual understanding and trust, promoted innovative ideas and concepts, and strived to provide new ideas and explore new methods for promoting world peace and security. He said that universities are the intellectual and cultural highlands of human society. As the organizers of the forum, he hopes to guide the younger generation to expand their international horizons, cultivate their global sentiments, and firmly establish a sense of community with a shared future for mankind through the exchange and mutual learning of diverse civilizations. Only through dialogue can peace be achieved. ”Former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama believes that holding this forum has profound significance. In his speech, he stated that with the continuous wars and unstable regional situations in the world today, countries should focus on building a "friendly society" that respects, understands, supports, and coexists harmoniously with each other - which is highly consistent with China's concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind. This forum also specifically set up a sub theme of "Global South and World Peace and Prosperity". Ai Ping, Vice President of the China Association for International Exchange, stated that in the turbulent world situation, the "Southern forces" of solidarity and cooperation among developing countries are constantly gathering, and the global South is transforming from a participant in global governance to an important promoter, becoming a key force in maintaining international peace, driving world development, and improving global governance. During the forum, China's concept of peaceful development was highly endorsed by the attendees. Hatoyama Yukio said that Chinese path to modernization is constantly advancing, and China's economy and society continue to develop steadily and make new achievements. We need Eastern thinking and the value of 'peace' in order to truly move towards world peace. In this regard, China can play a greater role
