In order to promote in-depth exchanges between Japanese construction enterprises and the construction industry in Guangdong Province, and to facilitate experience sharing and ideological integration between the two sides, the "Beauty of Design Life: 2025 Guangdong Japan Construction Industry Exchange Conference" jointly hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Guangzhou and the Guangzhou International Exchange and Cooperation Center was held in Guangzhou on July 3. More than 160 representatives from architectural design agencies, universities, enterprises, industry associations, and media from both countries participated in this event. The event focuses on cutting-edge topics such as building sustainability, accessible design, adaptive aesthetics, and spatial innovation, injecting innovative momentum into deepening cooperation in the Guangdong Japan construction industry. The attending experts deeply discussed how to improve building quality standards, optimize functional layout and humanistic care, create more livable, resilient and intelligent future urban spaces, and effectively promote high-quality development of urban construction. Japanese Consul General in Guangzhou, Yoshiko Takashima, stated in her speech that architecture, as a century old project, practitioners need to focus on the long-term. She encourages practitioners to focus on the future, stick to their beloved industries, and jointly create architectural spaces that can serve multiple generations for a long time. She looks forward to deep exchanges and close cooperation in the construction industry between China and Japan, integrating the experience and wisdom of both countries in the construction field, jointly promoting industry development, and making greater contributions to urban construction. Fan Qun, Chairman of the Guangzhou International Cooperation Center, pointed out that this joint exchange event between the two countries' construction industries and the Consulate General of Japan in Guangzhou is the second cooperation between the two sides since last year, aiming to continue deepening cooperation in the construction industry between Guangdong and Japan. He believes that this exchange will focus on the field of architecture and design, which is not only in line with the innovative architectural concepts showcased at the Osaka World Expo, but also highly compatible with the strategic goals of Guangdong's smart city construction. He looks forward to promoting precise and in-depth substantive docking between architectural design enterprises in the two regions through this event. During the exchange session, four representatives from the construction industry in China and Japan shared their years of experience and cutting-edge research results. From architectural design concepts to innovative construction techniques, from green building practices to the development experience of accessible design, diverse perspectives collide to produce sparks of wisdom. The event also set up a corporate exhibition area and a free exchange session, promoting precise docking and resource exchange between Chinese and Japanese enterprises, laying the foundation for substantive cooperation in the future.
