76 illegal cases involving fishing were seized during the closed fishing period in the Pearl River, Guangdong

The Marine Comprehensive Law Enforcement Corps of Guangdong Province (hereinafter referred to as "the Corps") reported on the evening of the 2nd that the four month fishing ban period in the the Pearl River River had ended. The Marine Comprehensive Law Enforcement Corps of Guangdong Province had seized 76 cases of fishing related violations, 6 cases were linked up between the two laws, 13 people were transferred to the judicial authorities, 612 inland fishing related "three no" vessels were cleared, and 186700 meters of fishing gear were banned, so as to effectively protect the ecological environment of the the Pearl River basin and maintain the order and stability of the fishing ban period. During the the Pearl River fishing ban period, the Corps attached great importance to the establishment of the fishing ban law enforcement action headquarters, held special meetings to study and deploy special law enforcement actions, and ensure the orderly implementation of the fishing ban law enforcement. Organized 6 rounds of open and covert inspections, patrolled more than 1000 kilometers of the main and branch coastlines, sorted out more than 20 problem clues, urged local authorities to implement reforms, consolidated local responsibilities, and promoted the implementation of the fishing ban system. Law enforcement agencies in various regions of Guangdong actively take the initiative to conduct full coverage inspections of their jurisdictional waters, increase law enforcement frequency, and crack down on various illegal fishing activities. The Nansha Brigade of Guangzhou City conducts joint water and land defense, with law enforcement ships stationed in key water areas, and cooperates with fast boats for mobile cruising to form a all-weather three-dimensional supervision network. During the night raid in Foshan, 132 "three no" fishing vessels were seized and 34 cases were filed and punished. The Zhongshan Support Team launched a special operation to crack down on electric fishing, investigating and punishing two production and sales "electric fishing equipment" dens in Dongfeng Town, and clearing 1374 electric fishing machines and 229 inverters. Jiangmen Detachment Taishan Detachment dropped 4 electric fishing dens, effectively deterring illegal fishing activities. It is worth mentioning that the Guangdong Provincial Marine Comprehensive Law Enforcement Team has strengthened law enforcement cooperation with public security, maritime, market supervision and other departments, carried out 490 joint law enforcement actions, and effectively cracked down on illegal fishing activities. In addition, law enforcement agencies in various regions strengthen the education of fishery laws and regulations through various means such as patrol inspections, distribution of materials, discussions and exchanges, and promotion of typical cases, guiding the majority of fishermen to consciously abide by the fishing ban period system.
