On July 2nd, the north anchor caisson of the Hannan Yangtze River Bridge located in Hubei sank into place for the first time. This construction adopts an integral caisson foundation with a plane size of 76.4 meters by 76.4 meters, equivalent to the size of 14 basketball courts. The total height of the structure is 43 meters, making it the world's largest continental caisson for highway engineering. The Hannan Yangtze River Bridge is an important component of the Wuhan metropolitan ring expressway, designed as a main span 1600 meter double tower single span steel box girder suspension bridge. After completion, it is of great significance to improve the structure of the regional expressway network and optimize the layout of the Yangtze River crossing channel. (New Society)
