The Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino is located amidst lush mountains in Montejadino, San Marino. This Confucius Institute is jointly established by Beijing City University, University of San Marino, and San Marino China Friendship Association, with a focus on teaching traditional Chinese medicine and cultural dissemination. "We practiced acupoint massage and Tai Chi movements with our teachers, and also tried to make traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations Big Hawthorn Pills. It was really interesting to know some Chinese medicinal materials! This activity made me feel more profound and profound about Chinese medicine, and I hope to have the opportunity to go to China in the future to learn more about Chinese medicine." In addition to the Chinese medicine experience activities, the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino also held an academic seminar on Chinese medicine. Matteo Mikucci, Associate Professor of the Department of Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Urbino in Italy, gave a speech on the topic of traditional Chinese medicine dietary therapy. He said that he has been studying traditional Chinese medicine for over 10 years and gradually discovered its unique charm. Chinese traditional medicine has a systematic theory and has good efficacy in the prevention and treatment of some diseases. He has published research results on the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine with scholars from Hong Kong and other places in China, hoping to exchange ideas with more scholars in the field of traditional Chinese medicine through the Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino in the future. San Marino has a population of approximately 33000. The Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino has offered Chinese courses at one local university, one comprehensive high school, and two junior high schools, with credit recognition for Chinese courses in both the university and senior high school levels. The Confucius Institute also regularly holds cultural workshops such as calligraphy and tea art at teaching points, and collaborates with local governments to hold celebration activities during traditional Chinese festivals, with over 1000 participants per year. Entering the Tongrentang Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum located at the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino, there are neatly arranged traditional Chinese medicine specimens in the grids on both walls. The walls are hung with illustrations of the production process of traditional Chinese medicine, and display cabinets showcasing treatment and pharmaceutical tools are eye-catching. According to Guo Xiaoxia, the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino, since 2016, Beijing City University has regularly selected professional teachers to teach local people about acupressure massage, traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, meridian acupoints, and other knowledge based on their needs. Traditional Chinese medicine has continuously expanded its audience base in the local area. The college also collaborates with Italian traditional Chinese medicine institutions to conduct touring lectures in San Marino, Italy, and other places, actively promoting traditional Chinese medicine culture. Paula Chinchi, coordinator of the Economics, Science, Engineering, and Design program at the University of San Marino, stated that in the past 10 years since its establishment, the Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino has become a window and bridge for local people to understand Chinese culture. The summer camps organized for studying abroad in China have been widely welcomed by local youth.
