Different creatures in "The Book of Mountains and Seas" live on "islands", or leap, or hide, waiting for the lamp watchers to explore one by one... On the evening of the 28th local time, the Yu Garden Lantern Festival, a national intangible cultural heritage of China, was officially lit in the commercial landmark of Siam World in Bangkok, Thailand. The Yu Garden Lantern Festival in Thailand will be open to the public from June 27 to August 15 for 50 days. The overall layout of the lantern festival is based on the creative concept of "islands", integrating ancient and vivid cultural elements from the "Shan Hai Jing" with Thai elements. Different themed lantern groups are used to create a large outdoor immersive experience scene that is both mysterious and colorful, full of smoke and fire. This is my first time watching such a lantern festival live, and I feel very shocked. ”Thai girl Sabah said. This activity is very interesting, combining Chinese culture and Thai culture through artistic lanterns, which is very beneficial for cultural exchange between the two countries. ”Thai Chinese girl Chen Xiaohui said she would recommend the lantern festival to her family and friends. The Executive Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, Ranchano, said at the event that the Yu Garden Lantern Festival, as China's national intangible cultural heritage, landed in Thailand for the first time, which is the result of the joint promotion of cultural exchanges between the two governments and enterprises. This not only helps deepen the emotional connection between the two peoples, but also highlights the important role of culture and art in promoting the sustainable development of bilateral relations. Chang Yumeng, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, delivered a speech at the event, saying that the arrival of the Yu Garden Lantern Festival in Thailand is a vivid portrayal of the in-depth cultural dialogue between the two countries, and also a warm expression of the profound friendship between "China and Thailand as a family". It is expected that through the Yu Garden Lantern Festival, China and Thailand can create more sparks of wisdom in cultural creativity, artistic performance, intangible cultural heritage protection, cultural and tourism integration and other fields, and produce more fruitful results of practical cooperation. As a national intangible cultural heritage, the Yu Garden Lantern Festival will start its journey to the sea at the end of 2023, with its first stop in Paris, France. During the Yu Garden Lantern Festival in Thailand, cultural performances, characteristic fairs, light and shadow art exhibitions and cultural weeks with different themes will also be launched, focusing on Shanghai's urban style, China-Chic's cultural creativity, and oriental aesthetics, which will bring visitors different interactive experiences.
