The SCO National Sculpture Exhibition

It is reported that the "SCO Sculpture Exhibition" is one of the work plans released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during China's tenure as the rotating chair of the SCO. The exhibition, with the theme of "Art and Sculpture with a Shared Destiny", will last until July 6th, showcasing 48 exquisite sculptures created by artists from SCO member states such as Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. At the same time, the exhibition also features sculptures created by Chinese artists with cultural celebrities from countries such as India and Tajikistan as the main themes. Some of the exhibited works use realistic techniques to showcase the historical stories or character images of the country, allowing the audience to gain a deeper understanding of the country's historical context; Some use abstract forms to convey unique thoughts about nature, life, and the universe. ”Introduction by Ye Dongwei, Director of the Qingdao Creative Exhibition Center of the Chinese Sculptors Association. As the first event under the framework of the 2025 "Summer of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization", the opening of the SCO National Sculpture Exhibition also marks the beginning of the 2025 "Summer of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" series of activities. Song Xiaojie, member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the SCO Demonstration Zone, introduced that during the 2025 "Summer of SCO" series of activities, Qingdao will successively launch more than 100 types of activities such as cultural and artistic promotion, tourism promotion, exhibitions and festivals, education research and learning, sports and leisure, and consumption promotion.
