To celebrate the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the entry of the Chinese People's Liberation Army into Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Garrison held the "July 1st" camp opening activity from June 21 to 22, and organized Hong Kong citizens to visit Stonecutters Island, Shek Kong, and Xinwei military camps. At around 10am on the 21st, a grand flag raising ceremony was held in the Ngong Shuen Chau camp. After the performance, many citizens walked to the Air Force equipment exhibition area with unfinished business and checked in in front of the helicopter as a souvenir. The exhibition center of the Hong Kong Garrison is crowded with people, and many Hong Kong citizens bring their children to visit the themed exhibition "Dreaming of the East - Chinese Dream, Strong Military Dream, Hong Kong Defender", to experience the struggle and development achievements of the Party, the country, and the military. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War. Many citizens said after visiting that they would remember the history, cherish the hard won life and hope that Hong Kong will have a better future. During the opening of the military camp, the Hong Kong Garrison carefully created and arranged a themed cultural performance called "Salute to the Motherland". The performance is divided into four parts: "Mother of the Motherland," "Beautiful Hong Kong," "On the Road to Strong Military," and "Towards Rejuvenation." It comprehensively showcases the historic achievements of national construction and development, especially since entering the new era. It fully demonstrates the heroic atmosphere of Hong Kong's stride towards a new stage of governance and revitalization, and vividly reflects the passionate practice of the stationed troops in Hong Kong in fulfilling their mission. The art presents touching scenes of the deep bond between soldiers and citizens. This is the 35th military camp opening event held by the Hong Kong Garrison, which has received a total of 930000 visitors over the past 28 years.
