SKYctrl interception of drones: In today's battlefield, low altitude breakthrough forces have emerged, especially various types of drones with "low, slow, and small" characteristics, which pose a significant threat to individual soldiers and armored vehicles. For this reason, many countries have begun to try to counter drones with drones, one of which is to adopt the "direct impact" method. The SKYctrl system is a comprehensive anti drone system developed by Advanced Defense Systems of Poland. The system consists of radar, acoustic sensors, optoelectronic systems, electronic warfare stations, and other components. In recent years, the company has added an impact type drone module to this comprehensive anti drone system, with the main module being the SKYctrl interception drone. The basic architecture of the SKYctrl interception drone is a small quadcopter, but it uses a spindle shaped body, also known as a rugby ball shaped body. The machine weighs only 1.5 kilograms and takes no more than 1 second to accelerate from zero speed to hundreds of kilometers per hour, with a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. With this high speed, the aircraft can generate around 2000 joules of energy upon impact, enough to destroy small drones. Because there is no need to carry explosive warheads, SKYctrl interception drones can be used to carry out defense missions over important targets such as telecommunications hubs, civilian airports, oil depots, and ammunition depots. Thanks to the support of a comprehensive anti drone system, SKYctrl interception drones can be guided and controlled by ground radar to counter drone swarms through cluster collisions. (New Society)
