Latin American scholars explore the 'code' of urban and rural development in China

How is your rural revitalization progressing in an orderly manner? "" How can villagers have a sense of 'development'? "" What is the reference significance of China's rural revitalization for Latin American countries? "In Tayuanzhuang Village, Zhengding Town, Zhengding County, Shijiazhuang City, scholars from Latin American countries such as Cuba, Brazil, and Mexico continue to ask village branch secretary Yin Xiaoping questions. From June 11 to 15, 19 young scholars from high-end think tanks in 19 Latin American countries visited Shijiazhuang, Xiong'an New Area, Baoding and other places in Hebei to deeply investigate the practice of Chinese path to modernization in Hebei. Latin American scholars visit Tayuanzhuang Village, Zhengding Town, Zhengding County, Hebei Province (photo taken on June 12th). Xinhua News Agency reporter Huang Yuzhang photographed that Tayuanzhuang Village was originally a poor village. In recent years, the village has developed a "semi suburban" economy based on its geographical advantages, steadily advancing in the direction of agricultural industrialization, elderly care marketization, and tourism standardization. In 2024, the collective economic income of the village will reach 32 million yuan, and the per capita income of the villagers will reach 35000 yuan. At the Smart Farm of Tongfu Rural Revitalization Demonstration Park in Tayuanzhuang, Latin American scholars can intuitively experience the fruitful achievements of rural revitalization: thanks to advanced technologies such as soilless cultivation and aerosol cultivation, various crops are growing well. The real-time display of various data affecting crop growth on the screen of the farm command center helps managers to accurately control the greenhouse environment. The vigorous development of rural industries has enriched the "wallets" of villagers and deepened their sense of identity with the village. Starting from 2013, every three years, all villagers of Tayuanzhuang Village will take a "family photo" to record their prosperous life. Standing in front of a large group photo displayed in the village history museum, looking at the brilliant smiles of the villagers in the photo, Lionel Caravalo, Vice Dean of the Cuban Foreign Affairs Institute, smiled and said, "I also want to become a member of Tayuanzhuang!" In Caravalo's opinion, the experience of visiting Tayuanzhuang Village is of great significance and a valuable opportunity to learn from China's rural revitalization experience. Latin American scholars visit the exhibition hall of the Haval Technology Center of Great Wall Motors located in Baoding, Hebei Province, to view new car models (photo taken on June 13th). Xinhua News Agency reporter Huang Yuzhang captured the towering tower cranes, vehicles shuttling back and forth, and machines roaring. Standing on the observation platform of the Xiong'an intercity station dispatch and command center on the east-west axis, the bustling urban construction scene impressed the visiting scholars. They picked up their phones one after another and used the camera to record every moment of the "future city"'s growth and development. Colombian scholar Carolina Zapata said that the construction achievements of Xiong'an New Area deserve more attention. I have taken a lot of videos and photos, and I want to take them back to show my family, so that they can also intuitively experience the beauty of China and the changes in Xiong'an, "she said. Latin American scholars took a photo at the dispatch and command center of the Xiong'an intercity station on the east-west axis (taken on June 14th). The observations and experiences during the visit by Xinhua News Agency reporter Huang Yuzhang constantly refresh Sapata's understanding of Xiong'an New Area. At the China Telecom Smart City Industrial Park, she not only witnessed the scene of staff remotely controlling drones to perform park inspections, but also witnessed the specific applications of advanced technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence in urban transportation and other fields. In Sapata's view, Xiong'an New Area is not just a "smart city". In the Nanwenying Community of Rongdong District, she gained a deep understanding of the specific measures taken by the staff to serve the residents of the community: allowing residents to enjoy the "15 minute living circle" of daily public service facilities at their doorstep, recording residents' major and minor events through regular visits to the "public sentiment ledger", and providing discounted community canteens for the elderly... All these details made her feel the people-centered development concept of Xiong'an New Area. Sapata believes that the high level of organizational ability and close collaboration in various fields have jointly created a good urban construction and governance system in Xiong'an New Area. The development of this city is truly centered on the well-being of the entire population, which is undoubtedly a model worth learning from. During their trip to Hebei, Latin American scholars not only affirmed China's achievements in industrial development and livelihood security, but also highly paid attention to China's experience in the green transformation of economic development. At the Haval Technology Center exhibition hall of Great Wall Motors located in Baoding, the high-tech new energy vehicles attracted scholars to test drive them one after another. After listening to the introduction of Great Wall Motors' measures in the wave of new energy and intelligence by the exhibition hall presenter, young scholar Lisandro Lv from Brazil exclaimed, "China is walking on the right path and making important contributions to green development." Lisandro Lv said in an interview with reporters that in the face of issues such as climate change and depletion of fossil fuels, green development has become an urgent global demand, and people must explore new energy technologies. The popularization of new energy vehicles in China is a typical case of practicing green development. Whether it is in the research and practical application of new energy technologies, or in stimulating widespread public participation in environmental protection actions, effectively reducing energy consumption, and increasing the proportion of clean energy use, China has accumulated valuable experience, which is very worthy of learning from Latin American countries. ”He said.
