Whether it's difficult or not, get closer to practical training

2025-06-06

A few days ago, the squadron conducted assessments for various professional courses as planned to test the effectiveness of the previous training. One evening, Coach Tian Enyang happily approached me with his performance report and said, "In the just concluded assessment, all reference personnel have reached the excellent standard!" Upon hearing this news, I felt both happy and somewhat puzzled - most comrades have a relatively long training period and good results are expected, but the new comrades who have just joined the team can still achieve "full excellence" even after training for a short time? With confusion, I took the assessment report and carefully examined it. I found that everyone completed their homework quite quickly, with many officers and soldiers even taking less than a minute. I immediately asked Tian Enyang for the details of the assessment. He scratched his head and explained to me that due to the military training outline allowing the use of convenient equipment for operation, all reference personnel chose to use tape for wrapping and fixing, which saved a lot of time compared to traditional bundling rope operations. To further understand the situation, I request Tian Enyang to organize a re examination during the mobile training time for the same content, and stipulate that only bundling ropes can be used for operations. As expected, the results of the second assessment generally did not reach the previous level, and some young police officers also experienced issues such as weak knots and incorrect rope numbers during the tying process, resulting in a significant deduction of points. At the team affairs meeting, two performance reports for the same subject sparked heated discussions among cadres and backbone members: "You can choose convenient equipment on the assessment site, but there is not so much room for choice on the battlefield. It is better to practice a few more hands to deal with different situations" "The purpose of training is not only to achieve good results, but also to improve combat skills"... After listening to everyone's speeches, I also made a timely summary: although the performance in the second assessment decreased, the level can be seen more clearly than the first one! The use of adhesive tape for bundling certainly has its convenience, but in the complex and ever-changing battlefield environment of the future, we must not rely on a single equipment or convenient means. After the discussion, the squadron organized personnel who did not meet the excellent standards for intensive training based on the results of the second assessment. At the same time, a thorough investigation was conducted to identify similar problems that existed during the previous training and make up for any deficiencies. Taking this as an opportunity, the squadron drew lessons from others, improved the training methods of multiple subjects, integrated tactical background into training and assessment, and demanded strict requirements from difficulties through on-site guidance and special situations, random selection of equipment, etc., forcing officers and soldiers to enhance their ability to deal with complex situations. In the latest training on drug packaging, Tian Enyang organized officers and soldiers to collect special cards on the types of drug packaging, bundling equipment, and working environment on site, and conducted on-site assessments. It is gratifying that the soldiers were not intimidated, calmly responded, standardized their work, and passed the assessment with high standards. (New Society)
