The "Hunan Hong Kong Investment and Financing Matchmaking Conference" hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hunan Provincial Political Consultative Conference was held in Hong Kong on the 14th. This event is one of the theme activities of the "2025 Hunan Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference", aiming to strengthen the deep connection between high-quality projects in Hunan and Hong Kong and international capital. Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Leung Chun ying, attended the event and delivered a speech, stating that Hong Kong is an international financial center, and Hunan's foreign trade can better utilize Hong Kong's trade services, achieve the lowest trade financing costs, and cooperate to buy global products at the lowest prices. It can also sell Hunan products to the world at the best prices and lowest financing costs. Governor Mao Weiming of Hunan Province delivered a speech, stating that Hong Kong is Hunan's largest overseas trading partner, the first choice for financing, and the largest source of inbound tourism in Hunan. He hopes that Hunan and Hong Kong will focus on high-quality integration and innovation of science, technology, and industry, strengthen strong industrial cooperation and complementary advantages, and promote Changsha to become a global research and development center city. Chen Baili, Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said that Hong Kong will continue to strengthen contacts with investment promotion units in different provinces of mainland China, deepen communication channels, including jointly organizing more activities with Hunan Province. The Hong Kong Investment Promotion Agency will focus on providing free, professional, and customized one-stop services to help Hunan enterprises seize the huge opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. The docking and negotiation conference released the "Hunan Province Investment and Financing Demand Project Information Book", which gathers 203 projects from 15 major fields across the province, with over 60% of the project entities being high-tech enterprises. A signing ceremony was also held on site. It is reported that several Hunan Hong Kong enterprises have reached preliminary cooperation intentions in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, etc., laying the foundation for further deepening cooperation.
