As the Beginning of Summer arrives, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that winter wheat, the main crop of summer grain and oil, has entered the filling stage, winter rapeseed has started to be harvested, and the spring sowing of crops such as corn and rice has reached its peak.
Currently, wheat in the Huang-Huai-Hai region has entered the critical period for yield formation. The central government has fully prepaid 1.6 billion yuan in advance for the "one spray, three preventions" (spraying pesticides, fertilizers, etc. to prevent pests, diseases, and adverse weather) program. Recently, it has also allocated 376 million yuan for disaster prevention and relief in agricultural production, supporting local areas in combating drought, preventing pests and diseases, and protecting against "dry hot winds" in an effort to ensure a bumper summer grain harvest.
Large areas of winter rapeseed in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River have been harvested. It is expected that the planted area will remain stable with a slight increase, and a bumper harvest is in sight.
In spring sowing areas, localities are seizing the favorable opportunity of suitable soil moisture, implementing key measures to improve large-scale unit yields, and vigorously promoting high-performance seeders to strive for complete seedling emergence in one sowing. According to the agricultural situation monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, 92 million mu of grain has been sown in Northeast China so far, completing about 20% of the planned area.
