April 25th to May 1st is the 23rd National Promotion Week for the Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China. The National Health Commission held a press conference today with the theme of caring for the occupational health of workers. With the rapid development of the economy, the widespread use of new materials, technologies, and processes, as well as the emergence of new forms of employment, the working environment and health problems faced by workers have become more complex. Sun Xin, Director of the Occupational Health Institute of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced that workers not only face occupational diseases caused by exposure to dust, chemical toxins, noise, etc., but also face work-related diseases that may be caused by new forms of work and employment models. On the one hand, for workers who are exposed to occupational hazards such as dust, chemical toxins, and noise, it is necessary to actively understand the occupational hazards, possible consequences, and protective measures that should be taken in the position they are engaged in, and take personal protective measures. If there is a dust hazard in the workplace, it is necessary to wear dust masks that meet relevant national standards correctly; Work positions with chemical toxicity hazards require correct wearing of gas masks, protective clothing, and gloves; Work positions with noise hazards require the correct use of earplugs or hearing protectors. Do not neglect personal protection or wear personal protective equipment improperly due to fear of trouble or inconvenience. The second is to actively practice a healthy work style, such as doing simple stretching exercises during breaks to relieve muscle fatigue. On the other hand, with the rapid development of the platform economy, new formats such as postal express delivery (express delivery, takeout), ride hailing, and online live streaming are developing rapidly. Employees who work for long periods of time, under high-intensity conditions, and in poor working postures such as sitting for long periods of time are prone to cardiovascular disease, psychological disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, and so on. Remind food delivery, express delivery, ride hailing, online live streaming and other professionals to pay attention to their health issues. Firstly, avoid working long hours or staying up late. After working for a period of time, engage in appropriate activities such as simple stretching and balancing work and rest; Secondly, avoid prolonged sitting and alternate between standing and sitting positions to relieve fatigue.
