The public security organs remind personal information processors to strictly fulfill their legal obligations, improve the regulations and technical measures for personal information protection, and maintain the security of citizens' personal information; At the same time, we remind the general public to properly safeguard, store, and use personal information. On March 18th, the Ministry of Public Security announced 10 typical cases of cracking down on crimes that infringe on citizens' personal information in accordance with the law. 1、 The Haidian Public Security Bureau in Beijing has cracked the case of Liu and others infringing on citizens' personal information. The network security department of the Haidian Public Security Bureau in Beijing has found that since December 2022, a criminal gang led by Liu has been creating Trojan horse programs, organizing personnel to join target education and training institutions, and targeting Trojan horse programs to illegally control the internal computers of education and training institutions, stealing customer information and other personal information. In September 2024, the Beijing Haidian public security organ captured 8 suspect in accordance with the law, instructed 17 injured enterprises to eliminate the trojan program, and effectively eliminated the potential risk of personal information disclosure. 2、 The public security organs in Zhangye, Gansu have cracked the case of "1.23" infringement of citizens' personal information. The network security department of Zhangye Public Security Bureau in Gansu Province has found that since February 2023, a criminal gang led by Li Moufei has colluded with express delivery industry workers, used technological means to steal personal information related to express delivery orders, and sold them for profit. In March 2024, the public security organs in Zhangye, Gansu Province, captured 18 suspect according to law, and found out that the amount involved was more than 3 million yuan. On the basis of this case, the Ministry of Public Security deployed the national public security organs to carry out a cluster attack, killing 12 criminal gangs and arresting 65 suspect. 3、 The public security organs in Changchun, Jilin have cracked the case of Wang Mouming and others infringing on citizens' personal information. The network security department of Changchun Public Security Bureau in Jilin Province has found that since January 2024, a criminal gang led by Wang Mouming has forged business licenses, posted false recruitment information on recruitment websites to deceive job seekers' resumes, and sold them to criminal gangs such as telecommunications fraud for profit. The network security department of Xuzhou Public Security Bureau in Jiangsu Province has found that since December 2020, a criminal gang led by Han Mouzhu and He Mouhang has illegally obtained parking data from multiple parking mini programs through hacking methods, and provided vehicle positioning services to others for profit by installing positioning devices. In June 2024, the public security authorities in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, captured 59 suspect and seized 33 sets of positioning equipment. 7、 The public security organs in Qingdao, Shandong have cracked the case of Zhang and others infringing on citizens' personal information. The cybersecurity department of the public security organs in Qingdao, Shandong Province has found that since December 2023, a criminal gang led by Zhang and Chen has been using the banner of "self media studio" to recruit part-time workers, fraudulently obtaining the personal information of job applicants for registering online accounts, and selling them for profit. In May 2024, the public security organs in Qingdao, Shandong Province arrested 37 suspect according to law. The network security department of Liaoyang Public Security Bureau in Liaoning Province has found that since October 2023, Zhu Mouxing and others have been impersonating staff members of a certain map APP, under the guise of helping merchants open Wangpu authentication for free and increasing their visibility, to defraud individual industrial and commercial households of personal information, which is used to register enterprise payment accounts and sell them for profit. In March 2024, Liaoyang public security organs in Liaoning captured 85 suspect according to law, and found out that the amount involved was more than 1.4 million yuan. 10、 The public security organs in Xiangtan, Hunan have cracked the case of Feng and others infringing on citizens' personal information. The network security department of Hunan Xiangtan Public Security Bureau has found that since December 2022, a criminal gang led by Feng and Tan has been deceiving others' online accounts and selling them for profit by posting false promotional videos such as free red envelopes and game skins on short video platforms.
