China's manned lunar exploration project steadily advances in the lunar landing phase mission

2025-03-04

On the 3rd, it was learned from the China Manned Space Engineering Office that by 2025, China's manned space program will solidly promote the application and development of space stations and manned lunar exploration. At present, the operation of China's space station in orbit is stable and the benefits are well realized. The development and construction of various tasks for the manned lunar exploration project's moon landing phase are steadily advancing according to plan. It is reported that in 2025, the project has planned two manned flight missions and one cargo spacecraft supply mission. The astronaut crew responsible for carrying out the two manned flight missions has been selected and relevant training is currently underway. At present, the Chinese space station has implemented more than 180 space science research and application projects in orbit, involving fields such as space life science and human body research, microgravity physics, and new space technologies, and has achieved many groundbreaking results. Recently, the China Manned Space Engineering Office and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission officially signed a cooperation agreement, opening a new chapter in deepening cooperation between China and Pakistan in the field of manned space, and taking the first step in China's selection and training of foreign astronauts to participate in China's space station mission. According to the plan, both sides will complete the selection process within about a year, and Pakistani astronauts will receive comprehensive and systematic training in China. According to the flight mission plan of the Chinese space station, Pakistani astronauts will be arranged to enter the Chinese space station together with Chinese astronauts at an appropriate time in the next few years to carry out short-term flight missions. Aiming at the goal of achieving the first Chinese landing on the moon by 2030, the development and construction of the manned lunar exploration project in the moon landing phase has been steadily progressing as planned. At present, major flight products such as the Long March 10 carrier rocket, Mengzhou manned spacecraft, lunar lander, Wangyu lunar suit, and exploration manned lunar rover are in the initial development stage and have made phased progress. The testing and launch facilities and equipment related to the lunar landing mission at Wenchang Launch Site are being developed and constructed in an orderly manner. The overall plan for ground systems such as measurement and control communication and landing site has been completed, and various project constructions will be carried out gradually. Subsequently, major flight products such as ships, aircraft, arrows, and suits will focus on conducting large-scale tests on initial samples. To effectively improve the quality and efficiency of research and development work, the lunar mission will continue to promote the digital transformation of engineering research and development.
