The National Copyright Administration and other departments have announced the first batch of typical cases in the special action for copyright protection of cinema films

In order to severely crack down on illegal filming, recording, and dissemination in cinemas, maintain a good order of cinema film copyright protection, and enhance public awareness of film copyright protection, the National Copyright Administration, National Film Administration, Ministry of Public Security, and Ministry of Culture and Tourism have jointly deployed the 7th special action for cinema film copyright protection since January this year. As of February 20th, a special operation has investigated and dealt with 22 cases of infringement and piracy of films related to the Spring Festival, arrested more than 40 people who secretly filmed, recorded, and illegally spread them, promoted relevant online platforms to delete 2.2957 million links related to infringement of films related to the Spring Festival, banned and restricted 4116 accounts that repeatedly infringed, and severely cracked down on the illegal recording and dissemination of cinema films, providing protection for legitimate cinema films. During the special operation, copyright law enforcement departments in various regions investigated and dealt with a number of typical cases of pirated recording and dissemination of cinema films. At present, the Cultural Market Law Enforcement Detachment of Lvliang City, Shanxi Province has filed a case against Zhang. According to the transfer clues from the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Jilin City, Jilin Province, is investigating and handling the case. According to the transfer clues from the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, is investigating and handling the case. After investigation, on January 29th and 30th, 2025, in order to profit from selling pirated films online, Wang and three others secretly recorded "Fengshen Part 2: War in Xiqi", "Jiaolong Action", "Legend of the Condor Heroes: The Great Hero", and "Boonie Bears: Restarting the Future" in multiple cinemas in Pingxiang and spread them through the internet. At present, the Cultural Market Comprehensive Law Enforcement Detachment of Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province has filed a case against Wang and three others. The case of Li and others in Zhanjiang, Guangdong illegally recording and spreading Spring Festival cinema films. According to the transfer clues from the National Copyright Administration, the copyright law enforcement department of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, is investigating and handling the case. After investigation, on January 30, 2025, in order to profit from the sale of pirated films through the internet, Li and five others secretly recorded "Detective Tang 1900" and "Ne Zha: The Demonic Children Roar in the Sea" at a cinema in Lianjiang and spread them through online storage. At present, the Cultural Market Comprehensive Law Enforcement Detachment of Lianjiang City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province has filed and investigated cases against Li and five others. Jinhua, Zhejiang Province has cracked the case of Ren and others spreading a series of cinema films. According to online inspection clues, the public security organs in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province have cracked the case. After investigation, suspect Ren and others set up pirated websites App, Spreading infringing and pirated films such as "Ne Zha: The Demonic Children Roar in the Sea" and "Fengshen Part II: War in the Western Qi", profiting from paid advertisements and other means, with a total amount involved of over 14 million yuan. At present, 11 suspect have been arrested. Anhui cracked the case of Tang and others spreading a series of cinema films. According to the clues from online inspections, the public security organs in Anhui Province have cracked the case. After investigation, suspect Tang and others set up pirated film and television websites App, Spreading infringing and pirated films such as "Ne Zha: The Demonic Children Roar in the Sea" and profiting from paid advertisements, involving a total amount of over 12 million yuan. At present, 10 suspect have been arrested. Chongqing cracked the case of Zhou and others spreading a series of cinema films. According to the clues reported by the copyright administrative law enforcement department, the Chongqing public security organs have cracked the case. After investigation, the suspect Mr. Zhou and others collected customer orders through the online store, processed various kinds of animation and film works such as infringing and pirated "Nezha's Devil Boy in the Sea", and produced USB flash drives containing infringing and pirated films and films for external sales, involving more than 5.3 million yuan.
