Building a strong anti fraud barrier on campus

2025-03-03

In recent years, fraud cases targeting college students have occurred from time to time, especially during specific periods such as the start of the school year, where criminals still carry out "precision" fraud. Recently, there have been multiple reports of fraud during the opening of school seasons by the media. Some students, due to low vigilance, have been tempted by false names such as "brushing orders and rebates" and "sharing economy", resulting in damage to their interests. The public security organs have summarized the common forms of fraud during the school opening season in recent years, such as ticket refund and change fraud, shopping coupon fraud, "entrepreneurial project" fraud, etc. These frauds are not only diverse, but also constantly evolving in their methods. Scammers are like hunters hidden in the jungle, creating traps that cater to the needs of college students, inducing them to be deceived and causing them to lose property or even commit crimes. In this regard, the public security organs should continue to deepen special actions and crack down severely on telecommunications network fraud activities. To prevent fraud during the opening season, schools should strengthen anti fraud publicity and education, and guide college students to establish a sense of security and prevention. We can offer safety education courses for college students and organize regular anti fraud themed activities to help students understand various means and forms of fraud and improve their anti fraud skills. We can use the campus website, WeChat official account, radio, campus window, banner, electronic display screen, etc. to conduct large-scale anti fraud publicity in the form of online and offline combination, so that students can always be alert. In addition, the school should also improve its security management system. In terms of anti fraud issues, relevant departments within the school should cooperate and fully leverage the advantages of departments such as the Student Affairs Department, Security Department, and Propaganda Department to form a joint anti fraud force on campus. Strengthen the linkage between police and schools, fully leverage the role of local police stations and on campus police officers, and organize joint anti fraud activities between police and schools during the school season. College students should also have a deep understanding of the harm caused by fraud and actively enhance their self-protection awareness and ability. Some college students are defrauded largely due to insufficient knowledge reserves in fields such as law, finance, and the internet. For example, due to a lack of necessary knowledge in the financial field, it is difficult to identify the potential financial losses that one's actions may cause. Additionally, due to weak legal awareness, it is difficult to realize that one's actions may be exploited by fraudsters, resulting in legal risks for oneself. Therefore, college students should strengthen their knowledge learning in relevant fields and enhance their ability to deal with fraud. College students should also establish the correct "three outlooks", especially the correct consumption outlook, friendship outlook, and money outlook, and enhance their ability to resist the temptation of fraudsters. Many fraud cases during the opening season warn us that fraud can take advantage of opportunities at any time. College students should always have a sense of fraud prevention, be vigilant and take action against fraud. (New Society)
