Di, please pass! "On the 22nd, another weekend, early in the morning, Hong Kong and Macau single license plate cars smoothly drove past the" one-stop "checkpoint of the Zhuhai Highway Port on the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. According to the customs statistics of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, since the implementation of the "Hong Kong cars heading north" and "Macao cars heading north" policies until the 22nd, the cumulative number of single license plate vehicles entering and leaving Hong Kong and Macao through the bridge port has exceeded 5 million. Since the implementation of the policies of "Australian cars heading north" and "Hong Kong cars heading north" in January and July 2023, the travel between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao has become more convenient, and the cross-border traffic volume has accelerated. On weekends and holidays, more and more Hong Kong and Macao residents choose to go north for consumption, tourism, and visiting relatives and friends. Data shows that it took 10 months for a single license plate vehicle to exceed the first 1 million vehicles entering and leaving Hong Kong and Macau through the Daqiao Port, 5 months for the second 1 million vehicles, and only 4 months for the fifth 1 million vehicles. In 2024, the annual traffic volume of single license plate vehicles in Hong Kong and Macau exceeded 3.08 million, accounting for 55.5% of the total traffic volume at the port. The daily traffic volume at Daqiao Port jumped to the top of all ports in the country. During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the passenger flow at Daqiao Port once again showed an explosive growth. The cumulative number of people under customs supervision entering and exiting through Daqiao Port reached 1.017 million, an increase of 18.5% compared to the same period last year. There were over 160000 vehicles entering and leaving the port, an increase of 34.3%. On February 1st, the daily inbound and outbound passenger flow exceeded 170000 for the first time, and the vehicle flow exceeded 25000 for the first time, both setting a new historical high since the opening of the bridge. In response to the growing demand for interconnectivity, Hong Kong has increased the number of applications for "Hong Kong cars heading north" from 400 per working day to 500 since January 2nd this year. At the same time, Gongbei Customs has innovatively implemented the automatic binding function of electronic vehicle cards in the customs business system, and the overall filing time for "Hong Kong vehicle northbound" and "Australian vehicle northbound" has been improved by about 25%. At the port, we have strengthened technological empowerment, continuously improved the 'one-stop' vehicle inspection and release system, promoted the transformation of electronic vehicle cards and optical license plates, optimized the logic of 'serial modification and parallel' inspection and release, and applied wide area temperature measurement technology. We have taken multiple measures to improve customs clearance efficiency and enhance passenger experience, reducing the average clearance time for small passenger cars from 90 seconds to 60 seconds Introduction by Lin Jin, Chief of Customs Supervision Section 2 of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge.
