Indonesian President and Chairman of the Greater Indonesia Action Party, Prabowo, announced on the 15th at the party's 17th anniversary celebration that the government will launch 15 large-scale downstream projects worth billions of dollars this year. Prabowo stated in his speech that downgrading, as one of the core policies of the cabinet, aims to optimize the development and utilization of natural resources such as the ocean, increase the added value of goods produced using these resources, create more employment opportunities for the people, and promote economic equity and people's well-being. He pointed out, "We will continue to promote the downstream policy and ensure its successful implementation. This year, we will launch at least 15 large-scale projects worth billions of dollars." Prabowo emphasized that the cabinet's downstream policy adheres to the principle of openness to foreign investment and welcomes foreign investors to participate, but national development still needs to be independent and autonomous. In addition to downstream projects, Prabowo also mentioned the implementation of several other key plans, including free nutritious meals, self-sufficiency in food and energy. (New Society)
