Animal husbandry is an important component of agricultural economy. 'Livestock head and meat tail' refers to strengthening the integration of animal husbandry and meat processing. Focusing on "livestock head, meat tail" and deep processing of agricultural and livestock products is conducive to the coordinated development of the entire industry chain and the comprehensive enhancement of the product value chain. In order to do a good job in the value-added of "livestock head, meat tail", Jilin Province's animal husbandry system takes the deep integration of the tertiary industry as the engine, and through a series of measures such as innovative breeding models, improving slaughter and processing capabilities, and expanding marketing channels, promotes the scale, industrialization, and standardization development of the beef cattle breeding industry, promotes the quality and efficiency improvement of the slaughter and processing industry, and achieves the full chain upgrade of the beef cattle industry from pasture to dining table. As of the end of November 2024, Jilin Province has cultivated one billion level beef cattle enterprise and two billion level enterprises, and has developed and produced 730 products in four major categories including cooked food and pre made vegetables. At present, the output value of the corn, rice, pig, beef and mutton industry clusters in Jilin Province exceeds 100 billion yuan, and 709 key leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization at or above the provincial level have been established as "Top Ten Industry Clusters". The value-added and efficiency improvement level of the entire industry chain continues to improve. Agricultural product processing is an indispensable part of the agricultural industry chain. As the name suggests, 'agriculture at the forefront and industry at the end' means that agriculture is at the forefront and industry is at the end. Only by focusing on the "beginning and end of agricultural work" and enhancing the added value of agricultural products can we strengthen the advantages of agriculture.
