On the morning of February 10th, the 12th Guangdong Provincial Congress of Returned Overseas Chinese and Their Family Members opened in Guangzhou. Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Wan Lijun, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the China Overseas Chinese Federation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Huang Chuping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, and Lin Keqing, Chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony. Before the meeting, leaders such as Huang Kunming and Wan Lijun had discussions and exchanges with representatives from the overseas Chinese community. Huang Kunming, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, warmly congratulates the convening of the conference, extends sincere greetings to all attending representatives, workers of the Overseas Chinese Federation, and the vast number of returned overseas Chinese and their families, as well as overseas Chinese in the province, and expresses sincere gratitude to the China Overseas Chinese Federation and the vast number of overseas Chinese who have long cared for and supported Guangdong's reform and development. He fully affirmed the new progress and achievements made by the Overseas Chinese Federation in our province since the 11th Provincial Overseas Chinese Congress. He pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the work of overseas Chinese affairs, has attended multiple activities in the overseas Chinese community, received overseas Chinese, delivered a series of important speeches, and made a series of important instructions, providing fundamental guidance for doing a good job in overseas Chinese affairs in the new era. General Secretary Xi Jinping is very concerned about the work of overseas Chinese affairs in Guangdong, and has put forward clear requirements for Guangdong to do a good job in gathering the hearts and wisdom of overseas Chinese, exerting the power of overseas Chinese, safeguarding the interests of overseas Chinese, and reforming and constructing the Overseas Chinese Federation. He emphasized that Guangdong should do a good job in "overseas Chinese" according to the new reality. We must study, understand, and fully implement the new responsibilities and actions, better unite and lead the vast number of returned overseas Chinese, their families, and overseas compatriots to participate in Guangdong's modernization construction, and create new and greater achievements and contributions in sharing the responsibility and glory of national rejuvenation. I hope that the vast number of returned overseas Chinese and their families, as well as overseas Chinese, will further enhance their historical initiative, cultivate their patriotism, strengthen their sense of community with the Chinese nation, actively participate in the cause of "one country, two systems", firmly oppose independence and promote reunification, and better assist in drawing the greatest concentric circle for building a strong country and national rejuvenation. We hope that the returning overseas Chinese and their families, as well as overseas Chinese, will further carry forward the glorious tradition of giving back to their homeland, leverage their unique advantages in funding, technology, management, and networking, focus on serving key tasks such as the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the construction of a strong manufacturing province, the construction of a strong science and technology innovation province, the implementation of the "Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, Ten Thousand Villages High Quality Development Project", and the construction of a green and beautiful Guangdong ecology. We will increase investment and development efforts, help introduce more high-end talents, gather more innovative resources, and better assist Guangdong in accelerating high-quality development. I hope that returned overseas Chinese and their families, as well as overseas Chinese, can further serve as bridges and links, strengthen close ties with various organizations, mobilize various forces to contribute to the construction of their hometowns, leverage their familiarity with international markets and rules, deeply participate in the "Five Foreign Links", and better assist Guangdong in achieving high-level opening up to the outside world. I hope that the returning overseas Chinese and their families, as well as overseas Chinese, can further strengthen their cultural confidence, enhance the intergenerational inheritance of traditional Chinese culture, utilize their extensive network of contacts and cross-cultural exchange experiences at home and abroad, tell the stories of China, the Greater Bay Area, and Guangdong through personal experiences and vivid examples, demonstrate the charm of Chinese culture and the characteristics of the Chinese nation, and better assist Guangdong in deepening international cultural exchanges and promoting mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. All levels of overseas Chinese federations in the province must firmly support the "two consolidations" and resolutely uphold the "two safeguards", persistently arm the overseas Chinese community with the Party's innovative theories, consciously plan and promote work around the overall work of the province, effectively strengthen their own construction, and better unite the vast number of returned overseas Chinese, their families, and overseas Chinese to fight for high-quality development and modernization. Party committees and governments at all levels in the province should give more prominence to the work of overseas Chinese affairs, conscientiously implement the Party's policies on overseas Chinese affairs, support the Overseas Chinese Federation to creatively carry out its work in accordance with the Constitution, and provide strong guarantees for the Federation to fulfill its duties and responsibilities. Wan Lijun, on behalf of the China Overseas Chinese Federation, warmly congratulates the convening of the conference and fully recognizes the achievements made by the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Federation in recent years. He pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made a series of major deployments for doing a good job in overseas Chinese affairs from a global and strategic perspective, pointing out the direction for the development of the Overseas Chinese Federation in the new era and providing fundamental guidance. Organizations and cadres of overseas Chinese federations at all levels in Guangdong Province should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 2nd and 3rd Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee, deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on mass organization work and overseas Chinese affairs, further cultivate the advantages of "overseas Chinese", do a good job in "overseas Chinese" articles, and strive to write a brilliant chapter in the cause of overseas Chinese federations in the new era. We must elevate our political stance, strengthen ideological and political construction, and always move forward in the correct direction guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee; We should keep in mind the overall situation, anchor the goal of taking the lead, and contribute to the overseas Chinese community in Guangdong's practice of further deepening reform in an all-round way and striving to promote Chinese path to modernization; To deepen services for overseas Chinese, enhance the well-being of the overseas Chinese community, and do a good job in the work of benefiting, warming, and assisting overseas Chinese in the new era with sincerity and effort; We must be committed to reform and innovation, enhance the vitality of grassroots organizations, and promote the self construction of the Overseas Chinese Federation to a new level. At the opening ceremony, representatives from provincial people's organizations delivered congratulatory speeches, and representatives from the overseas Chinese community made speeches. The meeting passed a resolution to hire the Honorary Chairman of the 12th Committee of Guangdong Overseas Chinese Federation.
