On the morning of February 5th, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, who is on a state visit to China, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Kyrgyzstan are close neighbors, good friends and good partners, being linked by mountains and rivers and having a close affinity between their peoples. In recent years, China-Kyrgyzstan relations have witnessed leapfrog development and reached a new height of comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. The political mutual trust between the two sides has been continuously consolidated, and good news has been coming in frequently in various fields of cooperation. The social and public opinion foundation for building a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future has become increasingly solid. China supports Kyrgyzstan in following a development path that suits its national conditions, and is willing to deepen the docking of development strategies with Kyrgyzstan, expand the exchange of governance experience, promote all-round mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly safeguard the common interests of the two countries, and promote the better implementation and solid progress of the construction of a China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future.
Xi Jinping emphasized that the two sides should continue to explore new ideas and promote the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation with the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road as the main line. China is willing to continuously expand economic and trade investment cooperation, import more high-quality goods from Kyrgyzstan, support more Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Kyrgyzstan, and hopes that Kyrgyzstan will effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors. Comprehensively improve the level of connectivity, build the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway with high standards and quality, simultaneously promote the modernization transformation of existing ports, open more passenger and freight flights, and provide more convenience for the exchanges of people and the flow of goods between the two countries. Expand cooperation in new forms of productive forces such as cross-border e-commerce, big data, and artificial intelligence to create new growth points. The two sides should operate well institutions such as the China Cultural Center, Luban Workshops, and Confucius Institutes, strengthen local exchanges, and cultivate more forces dedicated to China-Kyrgyzstan friendship. China is willing to closely collaborate with Kyrgyzstan to enhance the cooperation level of the China-Central Asia mechanism, strengthen the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core, practice the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.
Japarov said that he is very glad to visit China at the beginning of the new year. He would like to extend his best New Year wishes to President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people, and wishes China success in hosting the 9th Asian Winter Games. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has achieved remarkable achievements in the journey of realizing the two centenary goals, shared its development achievements with other countries, and carried forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture while moving towards modernization, setting an example for the world. Kyrgyzstan is willing to learn from China's successful experience. The friendly exchanges between Kyrgyzstan and China have a long history. In recent years, the relations between the two countries have been elevated to a new level. China is a reliable friend and partner of Kyrgyzstan. All departments and localities have carried out close cooperation and achieved fruitful results. Kyrgyzstan will continue to firmly support China on issues such as Taiwan, Xinjiang and Hong Kong. Kyrgyzstan is willing to work with China to achieve more results in the construction of a Kyrgyzstan-China community with a shared future, jointly build the Belt and Road with high quality, build the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which is the "Steel Silk Road", and promote cooperation in various fields such as industry, investment, trade, transportation, e-commerce and education. In the face of the complex and changing international and regional situation, Kyrgyzstan is willing to closely cooperate with China to promote greater development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China-Central Asia mechanism, actively implement the three global initiatives, and jointly maintain regional and world peace and stability.
After the talks, the two heads of state jointly signed the "Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Kyrgyz Republic on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the New Era", and witnessed the signing of the cooperation plan for jointly building the Belt and Road and a number of cooperation documents in such fields as diplomacy, economy and trade, and agriculture.
Before the talks, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan held a welcome ceremony for Japarov and his wife Zarina Japarova in the North Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
21 gun salutes were fired in Tiananmen Square, and the honor guards lined up to pay tribute. The two heads of state stepped onto the reviewing stand, and the military band played the national anthems of China and Kyrgyzstan. Accompanied by Xi Jinping, Japarov inspected the honor guard of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and watched the march-past.
At noon that day, Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan held a welcome banquet for Japarov and his wife in the Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
