On February 1, 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping walked the alleys of Beijing. He followed the Caochang Fourth Alley all the way to check, and successively entered two courtyards.

Resident Hou Y was writing a couplet in the courtyard. The neighbors who came for words crowded the yard full. Hou Yaming wrote a couplet on the spot and greeted General Xi Jinping. The general secretary happily picked up a "Fu" character and personally stuck it on the door to greet the old neighbors here.

At home of resident Zhu Maojin, General Secretary Xi Jinping made dumplings, fried dough twists and chatted with them.
Sticking "bing" characters, couplets, making dumplings, paying New Year's greetings... These are all traditional Chinese customs, originating from the folk and spreading to today, long become an important part of our Spring Festival celebration activities.
During the inspection activities before the Spring Festival, General Secretary Xi Jinping experienced the local characteristics of the Spring Festival with the people many times.
