On January 22nd, it was learned from China Railway Construction Corporation that the Shenzhen Baishiling Tunnel, constructed by China Railway 18th Bureau, successfully transported natural gas, marking the opening of this mountain tunnel dedicated to natural gas pipelines in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and adding another energy gateway to the region. The Baishiling Natural Gas Pipeline Adjustment Project is a key project for the construction of a comprehensive national science center in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, with a total length of 6.35 kilometers. Among them, the Baishiling Tunnel has a total length of 6.1 kilometers and is a key control project along the entire line. The tunnel passes through 8 fractured fault zones, with high rock strength, multiple fault structures, and large water inflow along the route, making construction difficult. To ensure construction safety, the construction team used a full section hard rock tunnel boring machine with a diameter of 5.33 meters for construction, effectively reducing rock disturbance during tunnel excavation, improving construction efficiency and quality, and ensuring the safe and smooth passage of the tunnel. After the completion and commissioning of the Baishiling Natural Gas Pipeline Adjustment Project, it is of great significance for further improving the energy corridor of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, ensuring regional natural gas energy supply, helping to build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and promoting high-quality economic and social development in the region.
