To celebrate the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year, the United Nations Postal Administration issued personalized stamp plates for the Year of the Snake in New York on the 17th. The stamp plate consists of 10 stamps, each with a face value of $1.65. The stamp features four intricately intertwined and end-to-end exquisite flower snakes, with the Chinese characters "Yi Si Nian" and "Snake" prominently displayed on the face. The attached stamp bears the emblem of the United Nations. This set of stamps is designed by Pan Hu, a Chinese stamp designer. The whole set of stamps is symmetrical, full of color, and flexible in lines. It ingeniously combines the image of the snake with the auspicious meaning, highlighting the festive and peaceful elements of the Chinese Spring Festival and the dynamic design style in harmony and balance. The United Nations Postal Administration first issued personalized stamp sheets with the Chinese zodiac as the theme in May 2010, and has issued the first round of 12 sets of zodiac stamps by 2021. The Snake Year stamp plates can also be customized on the United Nations Postal Administration website, using personal images to replace the United Nations emblem pattern in the accompanying stamps. In addition to personalized stamps for the Year of the Snake, the United Nations Postal Administration has also launched the first day cover of the same zodiac stamp this year.
