The Guangzhou North Second Ring Road renovation and expansion project, undertaken by China Railway 11th Bureau, has a total length of approximately 38.5 kilometers. The project will adopt a "three-dimensional composite expansion" approach, expanding from the current six lane dual carriageway to ten to twelve lane dual carriageway while ensuring smooth traffic. The North Second Ring Expressway, located on the main transportation artery of Guangzhou, is the common section of three national highways in Guangzhou, namely the Beijing Hong Kong Macau Expressway, Shenhai Expressway, and Guangzhou Ring Expressway. It connects cities in the Greater Bay Area such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan, and serves as the dual function of the north-south transportation artery of the national highway network and the transportation axis of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macau Greater Bay Area.
