People's courts at all levels will strike hard and never tolerate the "human traffickers" deeply hated by the people. From 2021 to 2025, the proportion of defendants in legally effective trafficking cases sentenced to more than ten years of imprisonment, life imprisonment, or death penalty by courts nationwide is 10 percentage points higher than the proportion of all criminal cases sentenced to more than ten years of imprisonment during the same period. At the same time, while severely punishing the crime of trafficking in accordance with the law, the people's courts also pay attention to punishing the crime of buying and trafficking women and children (hereinafter referred to as "buying crimes"), and focus on cracking down on the "buyer's market". The crime of bribery should be sentenced to death, and those who engage in bribery and commit crimes such as rape, intentional injury, illegal detention, and abuse should be punished for multiple crimes in accordance with the law. Those who illegally handle or forge birth medical certificates, marriage certificates, registered residence certificates and other materials, which constitute a crime, shall be convicted and punished as accomplices in the crime of kidnapping and selling, buying or other related crimes according to law. On the same day, the Supreme People's Court also issued four typical cases of severe punishment for trafficking crimes in accordance with the law. It is reported that the means and methods of trafficking crimes have shown some new characteristics: the use of kidnapping, robbery, theft and other means of trafficking has significantly decreased, while the use of non violent means such as deception has increased; The number of cases involving online trafficking has increased, and buyers, sellers, and intermediaries have used online platforms to release information through coded language, communicate online for transactions, break through geographical restrictions, and have strong concealment.
