In this year's Government Work Report, China proposed to make greater efforts to safeguard and improve people's livelihoods, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing people's livelihoods, strengthening inclusive, fundamental, and bottom line livelihood construction, and striving to do more practical things for the people. I have always believed that a country that fully safeguards the well-being of its people and prioritizes their interests will have hope for development. In the past decade, I have visited China dozens of times as a scholar and media person, visiting many cities and villages, witnessing the improvement of Chinese people's lives and the progress of social development. Whenever I go to different places, my biggest hobby outside of work is getting close to local people: taking walks in parks, experiencing local subways and buses, or visiting community clinics and activity centers. These observations and explorations have allowed me to see the living conditions of the Chinese people more clearly and intuitively. In July 2025, I went to Jiangxi to participate in an event, and the beautiful Mount Lu left a deep impression on me. After dinner every day, there are many tourists and local residents taking walks, playing chess or dancing square dances in the square of Guling Town on the mountain. This scene deeply moved me. In a small alley, I met a local couple who run a small restaurant. They told me that thanks to the popularity of tourism in Mount Lu, their small restaurant is becoming more and more prosperous, with an annual income of over 100000 yuan. Only when everyone's life is guaranteed can they dare to spend money. The word 'guarantee' in their mouth has made me think for a long time. What is guarantee? China has won the battle against poverty, with nearly 100 million rural poor people lifted out of poverty and solved regional overall poverty, which is a guarantee. China has built the world's largest social security network, with extensive coverage of basic medical insurance and basic pension insurance, which is a guarantee. Overall, urban employment in China is stable, and governments at all levels have introduced policies to support flexible employment and new forms of employment, which is also a guarantee. Whether in urban or rural areas, the Chinese people enjoy convenient, efficient, and humane infrastructure, transportation, healthcare, education, and community services. Behind the beautiful life of the Chinese people is an efficient government and a continuously improving institutional system to ensure and improve people's livelihoods. The Chinese government led by the CPC not only has a clear and long-term blueprint for the development of people's livelihood, but also attaches great importance to the implementation of various policies and measures. It is precisely this systematic and unified approach that has made China's livelihood security system increasingly perfect. I have witnessed firsthand the increasing density of the "safety net" for the happy life of the Chinese people, and have personally experienced the important role played by China's sound system of safeguarding and improving people's livelihoods in promoting social stability and enhancing public confidence. Over the past decade, I have witnessed a significant improvement in the living standards of the Chinese people. Chinese society shows a sense of order in a leisurely manner, and the Chinese path to modernization that has been constantly promoted has made the people more confident. This year is the first year of the "15th Five Year Plan". China is comprehensively promoting Chinese path to modernization with high-quality development, and ensuring and improving people's livelihood in development is an important pursuit of Chinese path to modernization. History has proven countless times that China's development has always adhered to the principle of putting people first, attached great importance to improving people's livelihoods, and the achievements of development have always benefited all people. With the continuous enhancement of China's comprehensive national strength, the lives of the Chinese people are bound to improve. As a developing country, Pakistan can draw valuable experience from China's path of livelihood development, such as improving infrastructure, expanding public services, concentrating efforts on poverty alleviation, and promoting science and technology education. The inspiration brought by China is that to ensure and improve people's livelihoods, we must not only focus on promoting the overall modernization process of society, but also ensure that the people are not left behind on this path. The prosperity of the people and the strength of the country complement each other. Currently, nearly half of Pakistan's population still lives in relatively underdeveloped rural areas. Learning from China's poverty reduction experience can greatly improve the living conditions of the Pakistani people. Only by enabling more people to live a secure life can there be more hope for the modernization of the country.
