Two series of standards have been introduced in the field of intelligent connected vehicles
2026-04-01
The Chinese Society of Automation recently released two series of standards, "Collaborative Intelligent Connected Vehicles Based on Advanced Mobile Communication" and "Complex Road Autonomous Driving", filling the standard gap in key aspects such as collaborative driving testing and complex road decision-making. Two series of standards were jointly developed by the Chinese Society of Automation and 11 universities and research institutes to transform the achievements of national key research and development plans such as "vehicle road cloud integration" into 12 group standards. The "Collaborative Intelligent Connected Vehicles Based on Advanced Mobile Communication" series of standards focuses on collaborative driving, including design and operation conditions, construction regulations, and information architecture interfaces for networked collaborative driving. The aim is to break down information barriers between vehicles, roads, and clouds, and lay the technical foundation for empowering networked driving. The "Intelligent Driving on Complex Roads" series of standards directly faces the challenges of real-world scenarios, defining system composition and automation operation requirements, and providing reliable compliance for the safe implementation of autonomous driving. The evolution of technologies such as intelligent networking is accelerating the restructuring of the industrial landscape. As the most representative application field of intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles are moving from single function innovation to complex system innovation that integrates humans, machines, and things, and transcends collaboration. In the face of the deepening of technological integration and the continuous expansion of application scenarios, standardization has become a key support for building a collaborative development technology ecosystem and ensuring safe and controllable travel experiences. Data shows that by 2025, the scale of China's automotive industry will increase in sync with the level of intelligent networking. The annual production and sales scale of automobiles will exceed 34 million units, with a penetration rate of L2 level and above assisted driving exceeding 60%. The industry is steadily evolving towards L3 level and higher level autonomous driving. (New Society)
