On May 28th, the "Tea and the World" · Yaji - "The Temperature of Purple Clay" China Excellent Purple Clay Works Exhibition and Interactive Experience Activity jointly organized by the Bangkok Chinese Cultural Center and the Center for Cultural Exchange between China and Foreign Countries was successfully held at the Thai Chinese Women's Federation. Guests including Wang Huan, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, Counsellor Xu Lan, and Chen Shuqing, Honorary Chairman of the Thai Chinese Women's Federation, attended the event. Wang Huan stated that China is the homeland of tea, and the "traditional Chinese tea making techniques and related customs" have been selected for the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which is a valuable asset shared by all mankind. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the "Golden 50 Years of China Thailand Friendship". Since half a century ago, the cultural exchanges between the two countries have been close and the people to people friendship has been deepening. The "Tea and the World" activity is to infiltrate our wishes for peace and common prosperity into the tea fragrance, with "tea" as the new belt and "utensils" as the bridge, so that the people of China and Thailand can enhance understanding and deepen friendship in tea tasting. Chen Shuqing stated that this event is a cultural bridge connecting China and Thailand. The unique high-level art of purple clay teapots showcases the tea culture with thousands of years of history, embodying both the spirit of Chinese art and the innovative concept of keeping up with the times. Today, I learned from the guests about the precious tea art that has been passed down for thousands of years, and at the same time, I wish the close friendship between China and Thailand will last forever. This event presents the unique charm of China's intangible cultural heritage - purple clay art - to the Thai people in a comprehensive manner through the form of "lectures+exhibitions+interactive experiences". Dozens of exquisite purple clay teapots handmade by renowned Chinese purple clay artists were exhibited on site, with various shapes and exquisite craftsmanship, providing the audience with a precious opportunity to appreciate purple clay art up close and allowing Thai people to more intuitively feel the profound cultural heritage of purple clay. An interactive experience session was specially set up on site, attracting many viewers to actively participate. The purple clay artist demonstrated the traditional production process of purple clay teapots on site, showing in detail the entire process of making purple clay teapots from clay, allowing the audience to experience the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage skills up close. At the same time, professional tea artists also demonstrated the process of brewing tea with purple clay teapots on site, showcasing the perfect integration of purple clay teapots and tea art, and invited guests to taste tea and experience it. Amidst the lingering aroma of tea, the audience can personally experience the unique charm and profound cultural connotations of the purple clay teapot, which is known as the leading tea set in the world. They are immersed in a cultural feast that combines visual and gustatory senses. The "Tea and the World" Yaji series of activities has been ongoing in Thailand for three years. It is not only a grand event for tea culture exchange, but also a bridge to promote people to people and cultural exchange between China and Thailand. (New Society)
