Oman announces plans to offer Chinese language classes in public schools

Muscat News: Officials from the Omani Ministry of Education announced on the 27th at the International Chinese Language Day event jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Oman and the Omani Ministry of Education that Oman has decided to include Chinese in the curriculum of public schools. In the new academic year starting in September this year, Chinese will become an elective course for 11th grade students in four public high schools in Oman, and gradually expand to other grades. Deputy Minister of Education of Oman, Majid, stated that the Omani government attaches great importance to offering Chinese language classes in secondary schools and is working hard to advance the preparatory work. They are willing to further strengthen cooperation with China in promoting Chinese language education. (New Society)
