Since the launch of the "Legal Aid to Protect Minors" special action one year ago, judicial administrative organs at all levels have strengthened the work of legal aid for minors in terms of institutional construction, team development, and quality improvement. The number of legal aid cases for minors has continued to increase, and the quality and efficiency of services have significantly improved. According to statistics, in 2024, legal aid institutions nationwide organized and handled 180000 cases of legal aid for minors, providing legal advice to nearly 140000 minors. Judicial administrative organs at all levels should identify new service needs for key groups such as left behind and disadvantaged children, seize the new characteristics of malignant cases that affect the physical and mental health of minors, lower the threshold for assistance, expand the scope of assistance, and strengthen key protection. The Ministry of Justice guides the implementation of the Legal Aid Law in various regions, and applies for legal aid for minors who have been abused, abandoned, or subjected to domestic violence without being restricted by financial difficulties. It is reported that more than 1900 legal aid workstations have been established in various regions based on the Communist Youth League organization, and a high-quality legal aid team for minors has initially formed. The Ministry of Justice has guided various regions to open dedicated legal aid service lines for minors through 590000 public legal service platforms, 12348 public legal service hotlines, China Legal Service Network, and provincial-level legal service networks, providing free legal consultation for minors around the clock, and offering appointment and doorstep services for left behind children and disabled children.
