The case of Li Weiwei, former deputy director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, suspected of accepting bribes has been investigated and concluded by the National Supervisory Commission. After being designated by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, it has been reviewed and prosecuted by the First Branch of the Hainan Provincial People's Procuratorate. Recently, the First Branch of the People's Procuratorate of Hainan Province has filed a public prosecution with the First Intermediate People's Court of Hainan Province. During the review and prosecution stage, the procuratorial organ informed the defendant Li Weiwei of his litigation rights in accordance with the law, interrogated the defendant, and listened to the opinions of the defense counsel. The prosecution accuses the defendant Li Weiwei of using his position as a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, Minister of the United Front Work Department, Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Political and Legal Affairs Commission, Secretary and Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Political Consultative Conference Party Group, and Deputy Director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the 14th National Political Consultative Conference to seek benefits for others, illegally accepting bribes of a particularly large amount, and should be held criminally responsible for bribery according to law.
