Our regiment was originally a Red Army unit born in northern Shaanxi. In the 1949 Battle of Lanzhou, we were awarded the "Brave and Stubborn" and "Truly Stubborn" flags for our brave and tenacious attacks and defenses. From then on, 'brave and tenacious, truly tenacious' became the soul integrated into the bloodline of officers and soldiers. As a news reporter for my unit, 'Red Army successor' is a high-frequency term in my writing. Through the process of collecting and writing articles, I have also gained insights into how generations of young people from all over the world strive to become Red Army successors under the baptism of the red spirit, and how they draw strength from the nourishment of the red spirit. On the plateau, hot blood rushes forward. Faced with the arduous task of national defense fiber optic cable construction, the officers and soldiers shouted 'Look at me' one by one. Working on the Gobi Desert, the geology is hard and there are many gravel. When an iron pickaxe goes down, sparks splash everywhere, and the arms shake numb, but often only a white spot appears on the ground. The officers and soldiers worked hard and successfully completed the construction task, as if the sky were a blanket and the ground was a bed. Not afraid of hardship and not afraid of death, it is the spirit and temperament of this Red Army Corps fought in the smoke of war, and the winning genes condensed by the descendants of the Red Army in the bloody rain... In the new era, although the opportunities for officers and soldiers to face the test of life and death are fewer, they always hold their mission high above their heads. ”In the article "The Power of Red Memory" published in the military newspaper, I wrote as follows. That year, our regiment was stationed on the plateau for training and needed to draw personnel to form a small group to go to a sentry post at an altitude of over 5000 meters for duty. That outpost has less than half of the oxygen content in the plain area, with an average annual temperature of around minus 20 degrees Celsius and strong winds of seven or eight levels all year round. However, without the need for propaganda and mobilization, invitation letters drifted like snowflakes to various company party branches. At the moment when the group members boarded the car, all the officers and soldiers of the regiment shouted the slogan "Brave and tenacious, truly tenacious" to see them off. During the mission, I went to the outpost for interviews. The winding mountain road leading to the outpost is like a ladder, although the vertical distance is less than 800 meters, it winds around 18 kilometers of mountain road and more than 50 turns, making the terrain very steep. Even though I have been living in the plateau area at an altitude of over 4000 meters for almost a year, when I arrived at the outpost, I immediately took the oxygen cylinder handed to me by the outpost soldiers. In this place where reaching out seemed to touch the sky, the faces of the sentry soldiers were tanned, but their smiles were so bright under the sunlight. At the end of the interview, they raised a five-star red flag in the howling cold wind and loudly swore, "The place where I stand is China, and I am at the border. Please rest assured, our motherland!" I captured this moment with my camera and wrote their story of guarding the top of the snow capped mountains into the article "Inscription of Loyalty and Sincerity on the Clouds". The red gene is integrated into the bloodline and passed down from generation to generation. In 2022, I learned about the story of three generations and four people from Muradieri's family who joined the army as the then Deputy Chief of Staff of the Youth League. During the interview, I dialed the phone number of Muradri's father, Mukhtar. The elderly person is old, but their speech is clear and organized. He first told the story of his father Krymov. In 1950, Kerimov, as a member of the camel labor team transporting supplies, followed the "Advance Hero Company to Tibet" into Ali. After returning to Xinjiang, he was granted special permission to join the military and later promoted to officer due to his outstanding performance. Due to the needs of the army's mission, he took the initiative to work in Ali region of Xizang, where he worked for half his life. After growing up, Mukhtar, like his father, was stationed at the snow and wind border. His two sons both inherit their father's legacy. When my eldest son Muradri graduated from military academy, he had the opportunity to go to a place with better conditions in mainland China, but he hesitated for a moment. Mukhtar took off the party member badge he had been wearing on his chest for a long time and put it on Muradri's chest, reminding him, "Wherever the party needs us, we are there." The next day, Muradri wrote the application for voluntary border defense... After nearly three hours of communication, reading the same original intention from different times, my heart could not be calmed for a long time. After sorting out my thoughts, I finally wrote a draft of nearly 20000 words, and after several revisions, the article "Integrating Youth and Passion into the Borderlands of the Motherland" was published in the newspaper. After the article was shared on WeChat Moments, comrades in arms all gave a thumbs up to this military family who has been guarding the border for over 70 years.
