"One button unbinding" of Internet account makes the service of "second number renewal" better
2025-05-23
After the used mobile phone "secondary number" entered the market again, the previously bound Internet account has not been untied, causing trouble to the old number and new number holders. In response to this problem, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released the first quarter telecom service quality announcement, which mentioned that to guide basic telecom enterprises and Internet enterprises to jointly provide the "second number refresh" service, historical Internet accounts can be unbound with one click, and now more than 200 mainstream Internet applications have been covered. The 'secondary number' is indeed prone to causing trouble for users. For new users, they may receive harassing text messages and phone calls as soon as they are activated; If the number is occupied by the former owner's Internet account, the new user will not be able to register the relevant account and use the relevant network services; If the previous owner is engaged in industries such as express delivery, real estate agency, etc., and their phone number is marked as malicious marketing, new users are easily misunderstood, resulting in low phone connection rates; What's even more frightening is that some deadbeats are "wool" of online lending companies, frequently changing accounts, resulting in innocent users taking on "secondary numbers" being "blamed". For the former owner of the "secondary number", when giving up the use of the number, he would not unbind or forget to unbind the Internet account for trouble, or there would be an omission in unbinding, which would pose a risk of personal information disclosure and property security being threatened. For example, new users may log in to the original user's account through SMS verification codes and other methods to obtain their personal information. They may even reset the password of the original user's account through SMS verification codes and other methods, and engage in illegal operations such as fund theft and malicious overdrafts. This not only causes economic losses to the original user, but may also trigger a series of legal issues. It can be said that in the mobile internet era of "one mobile phone is popular all over the world", mobile phone numbers have become "digital identity cards" of personal identity, financial accounts and social relations. Telecom enterprises give "secondary number" to mobile phone numbers that have been out of service for a period of time, which helps to revitalize communication resources. However, for old users, changing the number almost means a "big migration" of all Internet accounts. In order to facilitate old users to unbind Internet accounts, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched the "One Certificate Check" function, but only for the account binding of popular APPs, and there are many inconveniences for old users to unbind one by one. In response to the above problems, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology guided telecom operators and Internet enterprises to jointly launch the "second number renewal" service to realize the one click unbinding of historical Internet accounts. At present, the service platforms of China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom have all launched the "Secondary Number Renewal" service. Taking a platform as an example, after logging in to the APP, you can search for the "secondary number refresh" service. Some mainstream network applications have been included in the unbinding option. Users can either check an application individually to unbind, or directly unbind more than 200 mainstream Internet applications with one button. This is much more convenient. In addition to providing convenient unbinding, telecom operators should also improve the "secondary number" service system. One is to fulfill the obligation of informing new users of their "secondary number" when applying for a number access agreement, in order to protect their right to know. The second is to extend the freezing period of telephone numbers. China's "Telecommunications Service Standards" stipulate that "the minimum freezing period for telephone numbers is 90 days". In order to minimize the impact of "secondary numbers" on new phone owners, it is advisable to extend the freezing period, especially for numbers that have not yet been unbound from important third-party services. For example, it should be extended to one or two years or even longer. After the extension period, the information and traces of old users should be fully cleared, and various bundled accounts should be unbound in conjunction with relevant third parties. The Internet platform should avoid too harsh conditions and cumbersome processes for users to unbind and log off related services, so as to prevent old users from abandoning old numbers without unbinding.
