The bronze storage container of the Western Han Dynasty's four oxen gilded knights, currently housed in the Yunnan Provincial Museum, features a unique lid that catches the eye: the outer ring is adorned with four sturdy bulls, with long and curved horns that move counterclockwise, exuding a strong sense of movement. The cylindrical handle tray in the center supports the "C-position" - a knight with a gilded body: dignified in appearance, wielding a sword at the waist, and exuding a majestic and graceful demeanor. The galloping horse under the knight's crotch also raised its head and tail, with bright eyes and a nose that seemed to emit heat, ready to fight with its master at any time. Looking down, there are two tigers climbing upwards on each side of the waist, with their bloodthirsty mouths wide open, as if roaring. This exquisitely shaped and vivid object was unearthed in 1956 from Tomb No. 10 of Shizhai Mountain in Jinning District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It is a typical waist tied cylindrical shell storage container. The storage shell vessel is a unique type of bronze vessel in Yunnan culture, which has never been discovered in other regions and is known as the most representative cultural relic in Yunnan bronze civilization, "Fan Haitao, deputy director of Yunnan Provincial Museum, told reporters. What is its function? The shell storage container, as the name suggests, is a bronze vessel used to store sea shells and was the "piggy bank" of ancient Dian nobles. Haibei was once a 'hard currency' in history. This shell storage container contains a large number of sea shells from the Indian Ocean. The collision of shell coins in bronze ware is a microcosm and witness of the trade between ancient Yunnan and the outside world more than 2000 years ago. The tiger on the waist of the shell storage container symbolizes strength and authority. Four plump and robust cows were placed on the lid of the tomb, indicating that the tomb owner had enormous wealth before his death. The golden knight, shining brightly through time and space, still spoke of the tomb owner's grandeur and majesty. He was an important figure in the ancient Dian Kingdom and was likely one of the royal families. ”Fan Haitao spoke in detail. As a neighboring country of Yelang State, the mysterious ancient Dian State was once a supporting role in the idiom "Yelang is arrogant". In "Records of the Grand Historian: Biographies of the Southwest Barbarians," it is mentioned that "the King of Dian and the Han envoy said to each other, 'Who is greater than me?' The same applies to the Marquis of Yelang. Due to the lack of communication, they each thought of themselves as the rulers of their own states, unaware of the vastness of Han. This is also the earliest written record of it in history. During the hundreds of years that the ancient Dian Kingdom lasted, there were few written records, but on the lid and waist of the shell storage container, there were engraved stories of this mysterious ancient country. In every inch, the three-dimensional realistic sculptures showcase the miniature lives of the ancient Dian people, such as war, hunting, and sacrifice. Like the "three-dimensional history book" of the ancient Dian country, they are also the key to solving the mysteries of its ethnicity, economy, life, military, religion, culture, and art. In the shell storage container, the crisp sound of shell coins colliding seems to come from the depths of history, and the mysterious ancient Dian Kingdom is gradually shedding its veil with archaeological excavations
